She slipped into the warm water and moved over to David. “David, do I look pretty?”
David looked at her, but before he could say a word, Fiona showed up, dragging Ella along behind her.
Fiona slid into the pool. “Ella, come on, get in here.”
David glanced over at Ella. She was already in her bikini, but she clung to her towel like it was a shield, looking awkward and out of place.
Jessa smirked. “Ella, what’s with the towel? Are you not confident about your body or something?”
Sarah watched, clearly amused.
“Ella, everyone’s waiting for you to lose the towel!” Fiona grinned, then yanked the towel away in one quick motion.
Ella let out a startled yelp, her cheeks turning red as everyone’s eyes landed on her.
She was wearing a bright magenta bikini. Her skin looked soft and smooth without any effort. It was nothing like Jessa’s, who paid a fortune every month for her glow. Ella’s skin looked naturally creamy and flawless. Her body was just as enviable, with a tiny waist, soft curves, and long, shapely legs. The magenta bikini added a playful boldness to her vibe, making her look even more stunning.
David’s eyes lingered on her, his expression tightening for a split second.
“Ella, just get in,” Fiona said, reaching for her.
As Ella stepped forward, her foot slipped on the wet edge and she lost her balance, falling toward the pool.
David moved to catch her, but someone else got there first. Atlas swooped in and caught her gently.
He looked down at her, his voice low and gentle. “Are you okay, Ella?”
Fiona laughed. “Atlas, doesn’t Ella look amazing in that bikini?”
Atlas kept his eyes on Ella, his smile soft. “She looks beautiful.”
Fiona nudged him. “So, was it worth the money today?”
Atlas grinned. “Absolutely.”
Ella’s cheeks flushed an even deeper red. She shot Fiona a look that clearly said, Enough already.
But the guy walked right past Jessa and stopped in front of Ella. “Hey,” he said with a hopeful smile, “can I get your number?”
Someone was hitting on Ella, right in front of everyone.
Sarah fell silent.
Jessa did too. She felt like her last bit of pride had just been stripped away.
Atlas slid his arm around Ella’s waist, making it clear to everyone that she was with him.
Ella remembered her role as his fake girlfriend and gave the guy a polite smile. “Sorry, I have a boyfriend.”
The guy looked disappointed as he walked away.
Atlas and Ella exchanged a quick smile, but then Ella suddenly felt a cold, piercing stare on her. She looked up and locked eyes with David.
He was watching her, his eyes icy and unreadable.
