The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 184

Ella couldn’t help noticing how David kept looking at her. It was weird. Jessa was right next to him, so why wasn’t he paying attention to her instead? Lately, she’d caught him staring more than once, and every time it left her confused.

Atlas turned to her, his voice gentle. “Ella, want to try the hot spring over there?”

Fiona smothered a laugh behind her hand. “Atlas just wants some alone time with you. Go on, you two.”

After Ella followed Atlas and left, Fiona stole a glance at David who’s looking gloomy. She couldn’t help but give a subtle chuckle.

The new pool was quieter, tucked away from the others. They chatted for a bit, but Atlas'phone rang almost immediately.

“Sorry, Ella, I need to take this call.”

She nodded. “Go ahead.”

Atlas stepped out, leaving her by herself. The warm water felt soothing, and she closed her eyes for a moment. Then something caught her attention. Ice cream. Someone was walking by with a tray, and Ella’s sweet tooth kicked in instantly. She got out and hurried after the vendor. But by the time she caught up, the person had already disappeared.

She looked around, realizing she’d wandered into a secluded corner of the hot spring resort. It was quiet, almost eerily so. That’s when she saw them. A man with a tiger tattoo sprawled across his chest, and a woman with the kind of curves that turned heads. The woman was straddling the man’s lap, her laugh echoing off the steamy water as they moved together.

“Aren’t you scared someone will catch you with your boss’ wife?” the woman teased, her voice low and playful.

The man grinned, wild and reckless. “If anyone sees us, I’ll make sure they don’t talk.”

Ella’s stomach dropped. She’d just walked in on something dangerous. The guy practically screamed trouble.

He just looked at her with that dark, unreadable stare. “What, never done this before? Stop pretending.”

Why was he acting like this? Did she do something wrong?

He bent his knee, forcing her legs apart, pressing his body closer to hers. She kept resisting, refusing to wrap her legs around him. She understood he was trying to protect her, but did it have to be this way? This felt too close. Too much.

“David, let me go,” she whispered, trying to push him away.

His face was already stormy, but now it looked even darker as she struggled, her knees pressing into his sides.

Somewhere close, she heard a voice call out, “Tim, I saw someone run this way!”
