The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 185

The guy with the tiger tattoo showed up with his crew.

David immediately recognized him. Tim. He was a notorious enforcer on the streets, second in command, ruthless, and with a reputation for violence. Right now, he was here sneaking around with his boss’ wife, and Ella had caught them in the act.

Tim would never let Ella walk away after seeing that.

There was an unspoken rule in this city. The rich and the underworld kept to their own sides. David didn’t want to start anything big right here.

But then Tim stormed in with his bodyguards. “Tim, it’s them!” someone called out.

Without warning, David ducked his head and pressed his lips to Ella’s.

Ella heard Tim’s voice, and then everything went dark as David’s kiss crashed down on her. It was rough, almost desperate, like he was trying to erase something ugly. He nipped at her lips, almost punishing.

She put her hands against his chest, trying to push him away. David’s voice was a low, dangerous whisper against her skin. “Do you want to die?”

Of course she didn’t. But she didn’t want this either. “It hurts,” she murmured, wincing.

Her brows drew together, her little face scrunching up in pain. With him, she always ended up looking like a vulnerable mess.

David kissed her again, this time gentle, his touch turning soft as if he was trying to make up for before.

Her fingers, which had been shoving against him, curled and gripped his shirt instead.

Her easy surrender made something shift in David. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, deepening the kiss.

There was a big rock nearby, perfectly hiding Ella’s body from view. All Tim and his men could see was David—tall, striking, and locked in a very intimate moment, the sound of their kiss echoing in the air.

Tim spotted David right away. Wasn’t that Mr. Harmon, the richest man in Rockford Bay?

She had no idea how he’d found her here, but she was genuinely grateful. “Mr. Harmon, thank you for what you just did.”

She tried to slip past him, but David wasn’t having it. He blocked her path, pinning her gently against the rock, his gaze dropping to her bikini.

Ella immediately crossed her arms over her chest. “Where are you looking?”

A cold, amused smile flickered on his lips. “Isn’t that the whole point? Didn’t you dress like this to get men’s attention? To have every guy looking at you? Doesn’t it make you feel special when I look at you?”

“You—” Ella’s cheeks burned. She arched an eyebrow and shot back, “Atlas paid for this. I’m only wearing it for him.”

David hadn’t bought her anything. He’d only bought a bikini for Jessa.

Her quick comeback made David laugh, though there was no real warmth in it. He reached out and gently squeezed her cheeks. “So what do you want? Clothes? I can get you some.”
