The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 206

Monica listened to the laughter and conversation between the two women, then turned to look at the tall glass building of Harmon Corporation.

She had studied acting, so she knew all about Global Entertainment. As one of Harmon’s subsidiaries, it basically ran half the entertainment world, holding all the best resources and connections. Some people spent their whole lives trying to get a foot in the door, and never even got close.

All of it belonged to David.

A spark flickered in Monica’s eyes, a new sense of possibility lighting up her face.

...

David walked into his office and tossed a file onto the desk, the papers landing with a sharp smack. He pulled out his phone, scrolling through his messages. Still nothing from Ella.

Just then, Aiden walked in, his voice lowered. “Sir, Mrs. Harmon isn’t at the university. She went to the hospital to see Atlas.”

David had been keeping track of Ella’s whereabouts. She’d spent the whole morning at the hospital with Atlas.

His expression darkened.

Suddenly, his phone started to ring, the sharp sound cutting through the tense silence. Rachel’s name flashed on the screen. “Mr. Harmon, you need to come to the Irvine house right now. Jessa’s having problems with her heart again.”

David’s brows pulled together. He hadn’t seen Jessa since they parted ways at the hospital, and she’d been quiet since then.

“I’ll be there soon,” he said.

...

In the hospital’s VIP suite, Atlas sat on the bed in his hospital gown, biting into an apple Ella had peeled for him.

Ella was focused on his test results. “Atlas, you’re almost fully recovered. You’ll be able to leave tomorrow.”

Atlas grinned. “No surprise there, I’ve had you taking care of me every day.”

Ella watched him, her expression sincere. “You got hurt because of me, Atlas. I really am grateful.”

Ella picked up. Maureen sounded excited. “Ella, you have to come to the Irvine house tonight. Everyone’s here for dinner.”

Ella was about to make up an excuse, but Maureen added, “I’m bringing Doctor E home for dinner. You can’t miss it.”

That changed everything. Ella’s answer came quickly. “Alright, I’ll be there.”

...

That evening, Ella arrived at the Irvine family mansion. The whole place was glowing, decorated like there was a big celebration going on. Maids were everywhere, bustling around with trays and dishes, making sure everything was perfect.

As Ella walked in, she caught bits of conversation from two maids chatting nearby. “Miss Maureen is bringing her boyfriend home tonight. Do you know who it is? Doctor E!”

“Doctor E? No way! I can’t believe I’ll finally see him in person.”

“Our Miss Maureen doesn’t mess around. When she wants something, she gets it. Even managed to win over Doctor E!”
