The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 232

David’s face went icy in a heartbeat. He hadn’t forgotten about her taking birth control for Atlas. That was why he’d been distant, why he hadn’t called or texted. He’d wanted things to fade out, to let them end quietly.

When she’d shown up at the family house for dinner, he’d actually thought she was ready to make up with him. And then she hit him with this.

“David, I want a divorce.”

She didn’t even want to wait another day.

Did she really think he was that easy?

His stare was razor sharp as he grabbed her arm. “Ella, did you come back tonight just to piss me off?”

Ella yanked her arm away, her voice cold. “Don’t touch me with your dirty hands.”

What did she just say?

Her chin lifted, her eyes clear and unafraid as she stared him down. “David, you’re disgusting.”

So disgusting, she couldn’t stand it anymore.

A vein pulsed in David’s forehead. He lost it, his hand closing around her neck as he pushed her back against the side of the Rolls-Royce. “Ella, are you asking for trouble?”

Ella felt so ridiculous. She’d actually thought, even for a second, that he might care about her.

He never did.

Not only did he not care, he never missed a chance to make her miserable.

She’d given him her first time, and he’d been awful to her afterwards. It hadn’t even been that long before he started seeing her classmate Monica, turning into Monica’s sugar daddy.

Of all the girls out there, why did he have to choose Monica? The thought of it made Ella feel sick.

Her eyes were red, her skin flushed, but she stared straight at him without flinching. “David, even if you kill me, I’d still think you’re disgusting. We’re getting divorced tomorrow. I’m done being Mrs. Harmon.”

David was fuming, his chest rising and falling, his eyes cold and hard.

What was he saying?

Ella didn’t get it.

His smile grew colder as he patted her cheek. “Ella, why are you pretending with me? When I came to you, you pushed me away. So what right do you have now to judge me for sleeping with someone else? Let me tell you, Monica is great at taking care of me. She made me feel real good.”

Ella barely heard anything except those last words.

Monica is great at taking care of me.

She made me feel real good.

It was like her heart had been stabbed. The pain was sharp and deep.

David wanted to hurt her, and he didn’t bother hiding it. He pressed her back against the car, his voice cool and almost amused as he went on, “Your classmate was a virgin, you know. She was clean. Now that she’s with me, I’m not going to let her down. You’ve seen it yourself. She can get whatever she wants. A mansion, fancy cars, every opportunity to become a star…”
