She’d never done anything like this before.
David stopped and nodded toward the aisle ahead. “The family planning section is right there. Go grab what we need.”
He was actually making her buy condoms for him.
If Fiona wasn’t still in his clutches, Ella would have told him exactly where he could go. Honestly, this was just too much.
She stood frozen in place. David watched her, his eyes lingering on her delicate, perfect face. Right now, her cheeks were a deep, embarrassed pink, the blush stretching all the way to her earlobes. She looked so sweet and innocent, it made him want to mess with her even more.
“What are you waiting for? Unless you’ve forgotten about your best friend?” His voice was smooth, but the threat underneath was clear.
Fine. Ella swallowed her pride and started toward the aisle.
There were two couples already there. The moment she walked in, all four of them turned to stare. Ella wanted to disappear. Maybe if she stood really still, she’d just vanish.
She glanced back. David was leaning casually in the corridor, watching her with a smug, entertained look.
Ella bit her bottom lip, grabbed a box of condoms, and held it up for him. “Is this your size?”
David glanced at the box. Small.
“Not that one? Maybe this one then?” She reached for another box, her eyes wide and innocent.
Now she was holding extra small.
The couples all looked over at David, their expressions shifting from curious to… slightly sympathetic.
Ella’s cheeks burned. She just wanted to embarrass him, but the way he said roleplay made her heart skip a beat.
She met his gaze, her eyes big and glossy. “Mr. Harmon, this isn’t some game. You’re using Fiona to threaten me. Isn’t that, like, totally against the rules?”
Her ponytail slipped loose, strands of hair falling around her neck, making her look even more like some innocent schoolgirl caught by a powerful CEO.
David swallowed, his voice dropping to a low, rough whisper. “Do you even know what breaking the rules looks like? With or without protection, it’s not the same. I didn’t complain when you told me to wear one.”
Ella’s eyes went wide. Only now did she realize that just because he didn’t seem to be interested in girls, it didn’t mean he didn’t know how to handle them.
She pressed her hands to his chest, looking up. “I don’t want to keep taking birth control pills. That night, you didn’t even bother to use one…”
