The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 252

David was silent, his face impossible to read. Monica had no idea what was going through his mind.

“Mr. Harmon, it was me that night. It’s my first time with a man…”

Before she could finish, David slammed his foot on the gas. The car shot forward, leaving Monica standing there, her words swallowed by the roar of the engine.

“Mr. Harmon!” she called out, her voice shaky and desperate.

Left alone, Monica felt her heart pounding with fear. What if David knew the truth? The thought made her knees weak.

Suddenly, two men in black suits appeared out of nowhere. They grabbed Monica by the arms, not bothering to be gentle.

She screamed, twisting in their grip. “Who are you? Let go of me!”

“Get in. Ms. Irvine wants a word,” one of them barked.

Before Monica could protest, they shoved her into the back of a sleek black van. When she looked up, she saw Jessa sitting across from her. Jessa’s beauty was striking, and right now her eyes were icy cold.

Monica’s heart sank. She’d heard plenty about Jessa. In Rockford Bay, everyone knew Jessa was the girl David truly cared about.

Ella was just Mrs. Harmon by name, barely even in the picture. Monica never worried about her.

But Jessa was a different story.

“Ms. Irvine,” Monica stammered, trying to sound polite.

Jessa’s eyes swept over her. “So, you’re the girl who spent the night with David? Word is, he’s been throwing all kinds of resources your way, turning you into some sort of star.”

“I…”

Jessa let out a cold laugh. “You must have a lot of men chasing after you these days. Since you seem to enjoy sleeping around so much, maybe I’ll just sell you to the red-light district. How does that sound?”

Monica’s whole body shook. “Please, Ms. Irvine, don’t…”

How could this be happening?

A surge of jealousy twisted through Jessa, so sharp it made her chest ache. She pressed her hand to her heart, struggling to breathe.

Just then, Rachel stepped into the van. “Jessa, are you okay?”

“Mom, did you hear that? It was Ella that night!”

Rachel’s face darkened. Despite all her careful planning, she hadn’t been able to stop Ella from sleeping with David.

“Jessa, you need to calm down.”

“How am I supposed to calm down? Ella slept with David. She’d never been with anyone before, and that was her first time. Look at how much David has done for Monica, just because he thought it was her. All of that should have been Ella’s. If David ever finds out the truth, I don’t even know what he’ll do for her.”

David was already starting to catch feelings. If he learned she’d given him everything, what would that mean for them?
