The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 253

Jessa clenched her fists so tight her nails left marks in her palms, but she barely noticed the pain.

Rachel’s expression was icy. She stared down at Monica, who was still on her knees. “That’s all you’ve got? If you can’t handle Ella, you’re useless to me.”

Monica rushed to defend herself. “I can do it. I already have a new plan for dealing with her.”

Rachel let out a cold laugh. “Then let’s see what you can do. Get out.”

Monica scrambled away, desperate to escape.

Jessa turned to Rachel. “Mom, why’d you let that fake bitch go?”

Rachel’s lips curled into an odd smile. “Jessa, Mr. Harmon still doesn’t know who that girl was that night. Before he finds out it was Ella, we can use Monica to deal with her. All we have to do is wait. The win will be ours.”

Jessa drew in a deep breath, steadying herself. Rachel was right. David still had no idea.

There was still time to fix everything.

“Mom, you’re a genius.”

Rachel hugged her tightly, her voice soft and full of warmth. “Jessa, I’d do anything to make you happy. If Ella stands in your way, I’ll make sure she disappears.”

To Jessa, Rachel was a stepmom, but honestly, she treated her better than anyone else ever had. The care felt real, almost like having a real mom.

“Why are you so good to me, Mom?”

Rachel gently brushed Jessa’s hair with her fingers. “Because you’re my daughter.”

A rush of satisfaction filled Jessa, like she’d finally gotten her revenge. Ella, look at this. Your own mother doesn’t even like you. She likes me. She treats me like I’m her real daughter.

Jessa snuggled closer, her voice sugar-sweet. “Mom, I love you…”

David walked back into Bellemont Manor, where a housekeeper hurried to meet him. “Sir.”

He went straight to the living room, his eyes landing on the sofa. That was where it all happened. Two bodies tangled together, one strong and unyielding, the other soft and warm, fitting together perfectly. It had been a night he couldn’t forget.

But who was the girl that night?

Could it have really been Ella?

“Go ahead.”

“Did you and Ella ever… sleep together?”

Atlas took a sharp breath, sounding a little annoyed. “David, I haven’t even held Ella’s hand. How could we have slept together?”

He added, “Ella’s a good person. I have a lot of respect for her. I hope you’ll treat her right.”

So there was nothing between Ella and Atlas.

Then what about that day at the campus clinic, when she passed out after taking those pills, or the marks all over her skin? That wasn’t Atlas. That was him.

He’d gotten it all wrong.

There was no one else. It had always been him.

It hadn’t been a dream. It was real. Their first night together.

David let out a shaky breath, his chest rising and falling as he realized the truth. David, look at the mess you’ve made.
