The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 312

Lilly froze, caught off guard by Lucas’s grip. “What are you even talking about?”

Lucas flicked his gaze from Jace back to her. “What’s going on between you and him?”

Lilly let out a sharp laugh, exasperated. She yanked her hand free. “Lucas, we broke off our engagement. You have no right to ask me that. And don’t forget, Sarah’s your girlfriend now.”

Sarah rushed over, looking shaken. Just moments ago, Lilly had gone after Jace, and Lucas had followed her. He’d actually chased after Lilly. It was the first time he’d ever done that.

Sarah stared at Lucas, stunned and hurt. She looked like she might cry, but Lucas didn’t even glance her way. His eyes were burning with anger, fixed on Lilly. “Don’t try to dodge the question, Lilly. Tell me, when did you get involved with Jace? Were you cheating on me?”

Cheating? He and Sarah had been all over each other, breaking her heart again and again. She’d run off on her own, only to get cornered by those creeps. If Jace hadn’t shown up, she’d be dead.

Lilly’s voice was icy. “Lucas, I don’t owe you any answers. And for the record, I don’t like you anymore.”

Lucas bristled. “Then who do you like? Is it him?” He glared at Jace, anger simmering.

Lilly opened her mouth to reply, but Jace, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly turned and walked away.

“Jace, wait up!” Lilly called, starting after him.

Lucas stepped right in front of Jace, blocking his way. “Did I say you could leave?”

Jace stopped in his tracks. He hadn’t said a word this whole time, keeping that cool, distant vibe. Now he finally looked up, shot Lucas a cold look, and spat out one word. “Move.”

He told Lucas to move, just like that.

Lucas clenched his fists. He was the Matthis family’s heir. No one had ever talked to him like that before.

Lucas couldn’t stand Jace. He’d always been top of the class, always had tutors and everyone expected him to ace the college entrance exams. Then out of nowhere, Jace had swooped in and taken the top spot.

Sarah felt her whole world spin out of control. Lucas was challenging Jace for Lilly’s sake.

She stared at Lilly’s delicate, pretty face, jealousy twisting inside her. She dug her nails into her palms, trying to hide how bitter she felt.

Who would’ve guessed Lilly would go from awkward to stunning like this?

Desperate, Sarah grabbed Lucas’s arm. “Lucas, please, let’s just go. I don’t feel well.”

But Lucas didn’t even look at her. He kept his eyes locked on Jace. “What’s wrong? Are you scared to take me on?”

Lucas was sure of himself. He was certain he’d beat Jace on the basketball court in front of everyone. There was no way Jace could beat him.

Jace’s face stayed unreadable. “I’m not interested. Go find someone else for your little games.”
