The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 323

“Not only that,” someone said, “did you see who welcomed Ella? They looked like the top organizers of the whole summit.”

Grandma Jill and Rachel stared, wide-eyed. Sarah rolled her eyes. “Don’t let her fool you. She quit school at sixteen. She’s always been sneaky. Don’t take her seriously.”

“Exactly,” someone else agreed. “She’s clearly up to something. Let’s go in and catch her in the act.”

Jessa nodded, sure Ella was just showing off. “Grandma, Mom, let’s go see what she’s actually plotting.”

Grandma Jill huffed. “Good thing I had the sense to cut ties with Ella ahead of time. Whatever mess she makes today, it won’t involve us.”

David walked into the main hall, looking around, but Ella was nowhere to be seen.

He thought he’d followed her in fast enough, but he’d lost her anyway. Where did she go?

He turned to a staff member standing nearby. “Who’s allowed to use the VIP entrance?”

The staffer answered politely, “Mr. Harmon, the VIP entrance is for the top students from each major institution.”

Top students only. So why had Ella walked through?

“Mr. Harmon, your seat is right this way. Please follow me.”

David was led to the very front row, center stage. This was the best seat in the house, reserved for the most important people.

The seat next to him was empty.

He glanced at it. “Is this seat for the genius girl?”

“Yes, Mr. Harmon.”

“She’s not here yet?”

“I’m not sure, Mr. Harmon.”

David waved the staff member away, then glanced at his watch. The summit was about to start, but this mysterious genius girl still hadn’t arrived.

But nobody had seen her.

David stared at the letter E on his screen, then typed, [What does E stand for?]

E replied, [It’s my name.]

Her name? E?

David looked at the single letter, and suddenly a thought struck him. Ella.

E could mean Ella.

He froze. Could his genius mentee actually be Ella?

No way. He shut the idea down immediately. Ella dropped out of school at sixteen. There’s no way she’s the prodigy everyone’s talking about.

Just then, the host stepped onto the stage. “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the summit.”
