The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 329

David studied the file in his hands. The sponsor section was empty.

“Who paid for Ella’s schooling?” he asked.

Aiden shook his head. “We haven’t figured that out yet, sir.”

David pressed his lips together, thinking. “What did Ella do after she graduated at sixteen?”

Someone as gifted as her should have started making her mark right away. Back when he was at Harvard, he’d already been involved in finance and business, and launched his first company in Silicon Valley after graduation. Meanwhile, it looked like Ella wasn’t even working.

That didn’t add up.

“I’m sorry, sir. We couldn’t find anything. Ms. Irvine disappeared for two years after she turned sixteen.”

Those two years after graduation were a complete mystery.

No one knew where she went or what she did.

“It wasn’t until two years later, after your accident, that Ms. Irvine suddenly showed up in Rockford Bay. The Irvine family arranged her marriage to you.”

David remembered everything that happened after that better than anyone.

He set the file down. “You can go now.”

“Yes, sir.”

Aiden left the office.

David sat there alone, sinking back into his chair. He pulled out his phone. Today’s entertainment headlines were all about Ella.

He scrolled through the photos. There she was, in a crisp white shirt with a high ponytail, standing at a podium. That picture was everywhere. Her delicate, beautiful face was glowing under the bright lights, so striking it was almost unreal.

The media called her “the most beautiful prodigy.”

It was a photo of the two of them together.

He stared, frozen. The realization hit him all at once. Ella had loved him for a long, long time. Even when he had no idea, she’d been loving him from afar.

Underneath the articles about “the most beautiful prodigy,” people were leaving comments.

“I think I fell in love today.”

“Same here.”

Jessa had once asked him if he was falling for Ella.

Today, it seemed like the whole city was in love. He was just a man, after all. To be loved so passionately by someone as brilliant and dazzling as Ella… he couldn’t deny it. He was falling for her too.

David found Ella’s contact in his phone and sent her a message.
