Just then, his phone started ringing. It was David.
He was probably calling to hurry him up and get him over to the club.
Atlas turned the car around. Rockford Bay belonged to David, after all. All he needed to do was show up at the club and ask David to look up the owner of that Ferrari.
…
Ella pulled the car into a narrow alley. Fiona was practically bouncing in her seat. “Ella, you lost him!”
She barely got the words out when there was a loud crash. The Ferrari slammed right into a wall.
Ella’s legs went weak. She hadn’t raced in three years. Going up against such a tough opponent had her heart beating out of her chest.
She and Fiona climbed out. The Ferrari’s front end was totally smashed in.
Fiona was shaking too. “Ella, what do we do now?”
Ella steadied herself and tried to sound calm. “It’s fine. I’ll call David’s assistant and have him sort it out.”
She scrolled through her contacts and called Aiden.
…
At 1996, Atlas arrived and slid into the VIP booth.
David was right in the middle of the sofa, with Atlas settling in beside him. The two of them were basically legends in Rockford Bay, the kind of guys everyone whispered about. Every debutante dreamed about them. Sitting together, they were the center of attention, no question.
Sarah looked like she could burst from happiness. The guy she’d been crushing on was finally home. She gazed at Atlas with stars in her eyes, then squeezed in beside him.
Jessa was next to David, chatting with a few other rich kids from their circle. The whole place was buzzing.
“Atlas, it’s been ages,” Cedric said, grinning. “You’re finally back.”
