The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 343

Was he about to figure out she’d been pretending to be Ella all along?

David glanced around the lobby. He’d been waiting forever, but Ella still hadn’t shown up.

Frustrated, he finally turned and walked away.

Jessa made her way over to Cedric. “Cedric, David’s already head over heels for Ella. You have to help me.”

Cedric stayed quiet.

A wave of anxiety tightened in Jessa’s chest. She knew Cedric had always wanted to get close to the mysterious genius girl, and now that he’d realized it was Ella, was he going to turn his attention to her too?

No way. She couldn’t let that happen.

Jessa clutched Cedric’s sleeve, her voice low and sharp. “Cedric, don’t let Ella fool you. She’s known this whole time you admired her, but she kept it to herself. She played you and David, just waiting for the perfect moment to show off at the academic forum. She’s clever and knows exactly how to get what she wants from men.”

Cedric was silent for a long moment, then finally looked at her. “What do you want me to do?”

A cold determination flashed in Jessa’s eyes. “Cedric, I want Ella gone.”

Back at the hotel, Ella walked in with Luke and the rest of the group. Luke looked around, confused. “Where’s Mr. Harmon? Didn’t he leave with us?”

One of the girls grinned. “Luke, Mr. Harmon’s girlfriend is here. He’s probably with her right now. No way he’d come back with us.”

Luke blinked in surprise. “Wait, Mr. Harmon has a girlfriend?”

“Yeah, I think it’s Jessa, the lead ballerina.”

Another girl chimed in, “I’ve seen Jessa dance on TV. She’s tall, super elegant, really pretty, kind of like a swan.”

“Well, Mr. Harmon’s girlfriend was never going to be ordinary.”

She pushed open her door and stepped inside.

Just then, her phone started ringing, the sound floating through the quiet room. She glanced at the screen.

It was David.

He was calling her.

Ella was about to pick up when she suddenly felt a tingle of unease at the back of her neck, like someone was right behind her.

She tried to turn around, but before she could react, a figure dressed in black stepped out from behind the door and swung something heavy at her.

Pain exploded at the back of her head. Everything went dark as she crumpled to the carpet.

Her phone slipped from her hand and hit the floor, the call accidentally connecting. David’s deep voice came through the speaker, anxious and searching. “Ella, I’ve been waiting for you. Why aren’t you here? Ella? Ella!”
