The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 361

“Cedric, why are you looking at me like that? Are you doubting me? Do you really think I wanted to blow you up too?

“Cedric, I’m your friend. It hurts that you’d even think that about me. You’ve really changed, you know?

“Tell me, why didn’t you come back when you were supposed to? When you were on the yacht, did you not do anything to Ella?”

Jessa was sharp. She went straight for the emotional angle, playing the victim, and then flipped it, putting Cedric on the defensive.

Cedric hadn’t laid a finger on Ella back on the yacht. His handsome face softened. “Jessa, that’s not what I meant.”

“Cedric, we have to stick together. Don’t let Ella get between us. That’s exactly what she wants.”

Ella started packing her things, ready to catch a flight back to Rockford Bay.

Once her suitcase was zipped up, she stepped out to find a friend. Instead, she ran into Jessa in the hallway.

Jessa had clearly been waiting for her.

Ella didn’t look surprised. She walked over, calm and collected.

Jessa smiled, all sweet and fake. “Ella, I’m so glad you’re back safe. I was worried about you, you know.”

Ella just smirked. “Jessa, was it you?”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. Ella, you should know better than to make wild accusations without proof. Don’t blame me if I have to take you to court for slander.”

Jessa wasn’t scared at all. She even leaned in a little, eyes glinting with challenge.

The message was obvious. What are you going to do about it?

Ella didn’t get mad. She just blinked, playful and relaxed. “Actually, Jessa, I should thank you. They say you see who really cares when times get tough. If it wasn’t for Mr. Harmon saving me, Cedric and I might not have made it out of that village.”

That wiped the smile right off Jessa’s face. She stared at Ella, her expression turning cold and sharp.

David was freshly showered, dressed in a crisp white shirt and black suit, looking every bit the gentleman.

He stood at the end of the hallway, light behind him, watching them. It was obvious he’d heard everything.

David walked over, his steps steady.

Jessa looked at him, eyes searching his face. “David, Ella just told me you slept with her. Is that true?”

David’s gaze rested on Ella.

She hadn’t expected him to show up, but she didn’t flinch. She met his eyes, calm and steady.

David nodded. “Yes.”

He owned it.

“David, I know she must have seduced you. She’s nothing but a shameless whore!”
