The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 362

“Wait a second!” Ella cut Jessa off mid-rant. “Jessa, you’ve got it all wrong. I didn’t seduce David last night. I actually tried to fight him off, but he took advantage of me while I was weak with a fever. He forced himself on me.”

What?

David, forcing someone?

Jessa couldn’t believe it. David was always surrounded by gorgeous girls. He never had any trouble getting dates. She had thrown herself at him more than once, and every time he’d brushed her off with excuses about being too busy or not in the mood. He was the definition of self-control.

How could he take advantage of Ella when she was sick?

Jessa shook her head. “No way. You’re making this up.”

Ella turned to David. “Mr. Harmon, you’re right here. Why don’t you tell Jessa if I’m lying?”

David glanced at Ella, then spoke, his voice calm. “She’s telling the truth.”

Jessa’s whole world seemed to crack apart.

Ella saw the shock on Jessa’s face and let out a cold laugh. “Jessa, when you decided to be the other woman, did you ever think someone would turn around and do it to you? Here’s a tip. David can’t control himself. Next time you see me, you’d better watch your step. Or... Maybe I’ll let him cheat on you again.”

With that, Ella grabbed her things and walked away.

Jessa felt like she was about to lose it. This was not how things were supposed to go. Not only had she failed to get rid of Ella, but she’d also ended up pushing her right into David’s bed. She’d totally played herself, and it hurt.

She stared at David. “David, why? You promised me you wouldn’t sleep with Ella, that you wouldn’t even touch her. You are divorced.”

David didn’t say anything for a moment. The light hit his face in a way that made him hard to read. “Jessa, I’m sorry. When it comes to Ella, I just...”

“Enough. Don’t say another word.” Jessa’s hands shook as she hurled her purse onto the floor.

Ella picked up her suitcase and got ready to head back to Rockford Bay. Luke and the others came over, looking curious. Luke leaned in and whispered, “Ella, I just saw Mr. Harmon and his girlfriend having a huge fight.”

Wyatt replied, “Let’s meet up.”

Ella typed, “Let’s meet at Herbs Life. I haven’t been there in ages.”

Wyatt sent laughing emojis. “You know, for the founder of Herbs Life, you’re getting pretty lazy.”

Meanwhile, Herbs Life was packed. David had brought Jessa in through the VIP entrance to pick up her prescription.

Since coming back from Seacore City, Jessa had been complaining about her heart and kept insisting that David stay by her side. Maureen and Rachel were with them too.

Maureen picked up her medicine and gave it an appraising look. “So this is the heart medication Herbs Life just launched. I’ve heard it’s amazing. It’s made a huge splash in the medical field.”

Jessa asked, “Who came up with it?”

Maureen grinned. “The founder of Herbs Life, of course. They started the herbal brand six years ago. Now there are Herbs Life hospitals all over the country, and six years ago, the company even went public overseas. The whole medical community was shocked.”
