Sarah saw Ella coming their way.

David and Jessa noticed her too. Jessa sounded surprised. “Ella, what are you doing here?”

Sarah shot Ella a look full of annoyance. “Ella, I’ll deal with you later for flirting with Atlas last night. Right now, just leave. We’re waiting for Doctor E, and none of us have time to waste on you.”

David’s eyes landed on Ella. He frowned, saying nothing, but it was obvious he didn’t want her here either. In his mind, she was only there to stir up trouble.

Ella didn’t get upset. She just looked at the three of them, an amused smile on her lips, and gave a playful wink. “I know you’re all waiting for Doctor E.”

“Then why don’t you leave?” Jessa snapped.

Ella straightened her back and, with all their eyes on her, smiled slowly. “Actually, the one you’re waiting for…”

She didn’t get to finish, because someone else suddenly showed up. “Ella, what are you doing here?”

Ella turned to see Maureen.

Grandma Jill Irvine had three sons—Jon, Peter, and Logan—and Maureen was Logan’s daughter.

Maureen was the definition of accomplished. She had a higher degree than Jessa, a medical doctorate, plus two years abroad where she’d assisted in major surgeries. She was even more proud than Jessa.

Jessa and Maureen were known as the two golden girls of the Irvine family.

They had something in common; neither of them thought much of Ella.

Jessa looked at Maureen. “Maureen, what are you doing here?”

Maureen walked right up to David, her confidence obvious. “Hello, Mr. Harmon. Doctor E sent me.”
