The game chose David for the very first round, and suddenly, the whole booth buzzed with excitement.
Maureen leaned in, her lips painted a bold red, eyes fixed on David. “Mr. Harmon, let’s go with truth. So, have you and Mrs. Harmon actually slept together?”
Everyone at the table, except for Atlas who had just come back from abroad, knew Ella was Mrs. Harmon.
It was obvious Maureen was digging for gossip about David and Ella.
The rich kids around the table started whistling, happy to watch the drama unfold.
Maureen shot a sly look at Ella. “You and Mrs. Harmon have been married for three years. Are you saying you still haven’t touched her? Do you really hate her that much?”
Jessa chimed in, looking down her nose at Ella. “I told David not to touch her. So of course he hasn’t.”
The two of them were clearly teaming up, hoping to embarrass Ella.
Cedric and the others jumped in, laughing and egging David on. “David, come on, answer the question. You have to tell the truth.”
Fiona glared at Maureen and Jessa, looking like she wanted to start a fight then and there.
But Ella slipped her hand onto Fiona’s arm, holding her back.
“They’re doing this on purpose,” Fiona whispered angrily.
Ella gave her a small, self-mocking smile. “It’s true. David’s never touched me. Let them laugh if they want.”
So Jessa had told David to stay away from her.
Not that it mattered. He never wanted to be close to her anyway.
Ella looked up, her gaze meeting David’s across the table. He looked like he belonged at the head of any room, dressed in a black shirt and black pants, his sleeves rolled up to show off his sharp wrists and strong arms. He lifted his eyes, and his cold stare landed right on her.
She couldn’t tell what he was thinking.
“David, just tell everyone you’ve never touched Ella!” Jessa pressed.
The bottle spun again.
This time, the neck pointed at Ella. The bottom pointed at Maureen.
Once again, Maureen was up.
Ella’s eyes sparkled with mischief. She knew exactly what Maureen and Jessa were trying to do, and now she had the perfect chance to turn the tables.
She wondered how these two would handle it when the game wasn’t going their way.
Maureen looked at Ella with an icy stare. “Alright, Ella, what do you want me to do?”
Ella blinked, all innocence, and smiled. “How about this? This round, you do a dare. You have to pick one of the guys here and kiss him, a real French kiss, for three minutes.”
Maureen stiffened at the challenge.
Everyone knew Maureen was proud to a fault. The only man she’d ever wanted was David.
