But David was Jessa’s.
What was she supposed to do now?
Oh no.
The rich kids at the table were practically buzzing with excitement. Maureen was famous, a total catch, and still single. Plenty of guys had their eyes on her.
Ella grinned. “It’s time to pick a guy.”
Then she glanced at Jessa with a teasing smile. “Jessa, our cousin is always so picky. Who do you think she’ll choose?”
Jessa shot her a look. “Of course she’s picky. She’s amazing, and there are a ton of guys chasing after her. You don’t have to say it.”
Ella just smiled and stayed quiet.
Jessa looked over at Maureen, honestly curious. She really didn’t know who her cousin would pick.
Ever since Maureen got back to the country, she’d become Doctor E’s assistant. Their side of the family was doing great with Grandma Jill, and now they were busy trying to find Maureen the perfect match among Rockford Bay’s elite.
Jessa asked, “So, who are you going to choose?”
Everyone watched Maureen, waiting for her answer.
Maureen stood up, her eyes softening as she glanced at David. “Alright, I’ll start.”
She walked in David’s direction.
When she passed one of the rich young men, Jessa’s eyes brightened. “Are you picking Tristan?”
Maureen kept walking, passing Tristan and stopping near Jaden.
Jessa’s eyes sparkled even more. “Wait, are you picking Jaden?”
But Maureen walked right past Jaden too.
She walked by every guy at the table until the only one left was… David.
Jessa’s breath caught. She jumped up and quickly blocked Maureen’s way, disbelief written all over her face. “Who are you picking? Are you really choosing David?”
Maureen couldn’t get to David with Jessa in the way. She looked Jessa straight in the eyes. “Jessa, I’m choosing Mr. Harmon.”
