Henry
Justine had stomped up to her room, slammed the door so loudly that it reverberated around the packhouse, then proceeded to pack or maybe just pout the rest of the night.
For good measure, I locked my bedroom door, not trusting her to try and get in my bed in the middle of the night.
First thing in the morning, I had breakfast sent to her. room, since she hadn’t emerged.
I met with Dallas and Knox and let them know my plan to réturn Justine to her pack then head straight over to Quirin’s pack.
“‘ll be back late tonight or early tomorrow,” I tell them. “It will depend on how much of an issue Alpha Patrick gives me for bringing Justine back so soon.”
“You found your fated mate, Alpha. He should be glad for you,” Knox says.
“He should, but we’ll see.”
When eight o’clock comes around and Justine is nowhere to be seen, I make my way upstairs and knock on her door.
“Justine, it’s time to go.”
She doesn’t respond.I snap my teeth together before Tyrus can growl out loud and I knock again, louder.
“Justine. Now. It’s time to go.”
Nothing. Before I can stop him, Tyrus slams my fist in the door just above the doorknob, splintering the door and doorjamb. The splintered door swings open.
You could have tried the lock, Tyrus, I growl at him.
‘You could have taken her home last night, Henry, he growls back.
Justine is sitting on the bed. Her bags are nowhere to be seen.
“Let’s go, Justine.”
“I’m not leaving, Henry. You haven’t even given me a chance to prove I can be a good Luna to you.” 1
“Justine. I’m not discussing this again. You can either walk yourself down those stairs and get in the car, or I will carry you, unceremoniously, and dump you in the car.
Either way, you’re leaving. Now,” I say, getting angry.
The audacity of this woman thinking she can hold me hostage in my own pack.
“Why are you doing this Henry. After everything, why?”
“It’s only been a few months, Justine. It hasn’t been years.
Neither of us is a teenager who doesn’t understand howChapter 10: Justine
the world works. You know I wanted my fated mate. I was. clear about that when we first met. I’ve found her. I want her. I’m sorry that makes things between us obsolete, but it does.
“She’s going to reject you. She already tried,” she snarls.
“Maybe she will. Or maybe she won’t. That’s between her and I. But I do know one thing. As long as you’re in the picture, there is no chance for me and Piper. So get your ass up and get to the car before Tyrus rips forward and does it for you,” I growl, letting my furious wolf come forward just enough to let her know I mean it
“I feel like I don’t even know you,” she whimpers.
*”Well, that makes two of us. Whatever gave you the impression that you could introduce yourself to my pack as their future Luna is beyond me. NOW, Justine,” I bark, making her body jolt. “I will not ask you again.”
“I need to pack my things.”
“Too late. You had all night. I’ll send them to you.”
“I had no idea you were so cruel,” she says, tears springing to her eyes.
“Then count yourself lucky that you got out of this bond before it was completed. Let’s go,” I say, stepping aside and gesturing for her to walk ahead of me. She’s looks like she might refuse, so | let Tyrus forward, but still hold on to him tightly so he doesn’t rip her apart.”Let me be clear, human. I want my mate. I will not accept you or anyone else but her. Get out of my packhouse before I decide that ending your life would be easier than taking you home,” he snarls.
‘Goddess, Tyrus. That was a little harsh, I growl at him.
I meant every word, Henry. Don’t doubt me. I WANT Piper and her wolf. They are the ones made for us. This… milquetoast is nothing.’
