Piper
“You told them she was going to be their Luna,” I growl.
“No. She did. I walked in as she was telling them and cut her off. That was AFTER I met you and told her that I intended to pursue a relationship with you.”
“So, she was manipulating the situation to try and get her way,” I say, shaking my head. “Wow, Henry. It’s a good thing you met me. She sounds like a piece of work,” I say as I begin to put food on my plate.
“What do you mean? She was always very kind and mild-mannered.”
I raise an eyebrow at him. “Until she didn’t get her way.
Seriously, Henry, you don’t see it?”
“I just thought she was …”
He stops and I stare at him, waiting for him to finish that sentence.
“Okay, I was messed up because I’d found you and I was all twisted up inside and I don’t know what I thought she was doing. But now, it does seem odd.”
“No, Henry, the word you’re looking for is manipulative.
She played on your feelings and your loneliness. As I said, it’s a good thing you found me. You dodged a bullet on that one,” I say, turning to find a table.I shouldn’t be shocked, I know I shouldn’t. He’s not the first man or Alpha to be duped by a woman who wanted a title and was willing to do whatever it took to get it. But seriously!
Before I can take a step, I’m spun around and Henry leans down putting his face in front of mine.
“I know EXACTLY how lucky l am to have found you, Piper, and it has nothing to do with Justine. Maybe I did dodge a bullet by finding you when I did, but the reality is, finding you was the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Period.”
He closes the distance and kisses me before releasing me.
“Knox and Sissy saved us seats. Let’s sit with them.”
I’m still blinking through my surprise as we make our way to the seats beside Henry’s Gammas.
‘Our Gammas,
‘ Fallon corrects me. Right. Our Gammas.
Dinner is casual, with the conversation flowing easily between me and the Gammas. They wanted to know everything that I’m learning at the Academy and if I’d teach them some moves while I was here. That conversation was overheard and spread like wildfire with warriors approaching us throughout the rest of dinner asking if they could try their skills against me this weekend.
Henry just smiled proudly as one after another of the warriors approached me.”At this rate, I’m never going to learn the move you used against me,” I say to him as we make our way upstairs after dinner.
“We’ll make time. Or you’ll just have to come back again,” he says, opening the door to our bedroom.
“We already have plans for next weekend, Henry,” I say, grinning at him.
Something in his eyes makes me catch my breath.
I stand, as if in a trance while he comes over and pulls my shirt over my head and unhooks my bra.
“Ready for me to have my wicked way with you?” I smirk.
He shakes his head, pulling his own t-shirt over his head before running his hands up my sides and sliding his thumbs over my nipples, making me gasp.
“This time, I’m in control.” He turns me and presses my body against the door before crouching in front of me and slowly peeling off my jeans and panties, leaving a trail of kisses down my stomach.
“Step out of your shoes,” he murmurs, pulling them off my feet. He kicks his own off, leaving him in only his jeans.
“I want to make sure you understand EXACTLY how thankful l am that I found you, Piper,” he says, lifting one of my legs over his shoulder.
He takes his time looking at me, using his fingers toslowly tease me as he touches me.
“You are very, very wet, Piper.”
“Yes.
”
He growls, then presses his face against me. When his tongue slowly slides from my entrance to my clit, my eyes roll back in my head.
