The Pack's Luna: The Pack Series Book 4 novel Chapter 31

Piper

I storm into the packhouse and jog up the stairs, quickly putting on clothes and grabbing a pair of shorts for Henry.

I don’t care if Justine looks her fill at what’s mine. Let her crave what she can’t have. But I don’t trust her not to try and touch him. Henry may not have seen it, but that woman is a snake.

Which is why, when I walk downstairs, I find someone else to take his shorts outside. If I see her getting too close to Henry, I’ll punch her and until I know for sure that she’s not pregnant, I’m not risking it.

I’ve just turned to walk into the dining hall where everyone has stopped to see how I’m going to respond to Justine being here, when Dallas walks in behind me.

“Luna.”

“Oh good. You,” I say, pointing to him and not letting him finish. “You,” I say, pointing to Knox who walks in behind Dallas. Iturn, looking around the room. “You, you’re Ryan, right?”

“Yes, Luna.”

“Ryan, and you, I don’t remember your name, sorry.”

“Leann, Luna.”

“Leann, and… you… Melanie?”

“Marie, Luna.”

“And Marie. You five, with me,” I say, walking out back.

“Umm, where are we going, Luna?” Dallas asks.

“I need to hit something and I don’t want to hurt anyone, so I’m going to take on all five of you at the same time,” | say, listening as what sounds like every wolf in the room scrambling to follow us outside.

“All of us at the same time?” Dallas asks as if he didn’t hear me properly. “Uh, Luna, I’m not sure Alpha would like that.”

When I’m far enough away from the packhouse, I spin arpund.

“Beta Dallas, I’m training to be on the Alpha Squad, the highest level of fighter in the werewolf community. If I can’t take on more than one opponent at a time, I don’t deserve to get on that squad.”

“Why us, Luna?” Ryan asks.

“You three,” I say, pointing to him, Dallas, and Knox, “are the three strongest fighters I sparred with today. Leann is the fastest, and Marie is fucking wily as shit. I never knew what you were going to throw at me. You fight like a rogue.”

“I was a rogue when I was a teenager, Luna, until Alpha Henry took me in.”

“One of my best friends was a rogue until she agreed to accept Alpha Quirin as her Alpha,” I say, getting into a defensive stance.

“Vivienne, right?” she asks.I smile, even though I’m still fuming inside.

“Yeah, that’s

her. Whenever you’re ready,” I say.

I watch them all look at each other, then one by one, they come at me and one by one I take them down, hard enough to let them know I wasn’t joking about needing a challenge.

As they all get to their feet, I can hear the pack clapping I’m not sure if they’re cheering for me or their pack members. I stay focused on the group I chose who now looks like they are ready to attack me together.

I get my feet swiped out from under me, I get kicked in the gut, and punched in multiple parts of my body, but by the time ve taken them all down enough times that they don’t immediately get back up to fight again, I feel like the worst of my anger is gone.

The pack begins howling and cheering as I help the warriors up, thanking them for a good battle. That’s when I hear the slow clapping behind me. I finish helping Ryan to his feet then turn to look at Henry.

“Feel better?” he asks.

“Is she gone?”

“Yes.”
