The Pack's Luna: The Pack Series Book 4 novel Chapter 35

Piper

I haven’t known Henry long, but I know enough to know that this reaction is very, VERY outside the norm for him.

He is squeezing me so tightly against him that I can barely breathe and the heat of his anger would be stifling to anyone who isn’t an Alpha.

“Henry,” I say, lifting my head to look at him. He has my arms pinned against my sides, so without fighting him, l can’t move.

However, when I see his eyes, I realize that Tyrus is just as

– forward as Henry, maybe more so. That explains why Henry slammed on the brakes. Tyrus was taking control.

“Tyrus,” I begin again, keeping my voice calm.

“Do you want me to kill him for you, my mate? I would gladly kill anyone who made you feel less than the beautiful, powerful, intelligent, wonderful, and absolutely perfect woman that you are,” he growls.

I can sense that Henry is at the surface as well, feeling just as angry on my behalf.

Since my arms are clamped against my sides, I rest my hands against his thighs, trying to touch him and help to calm him.

“No, I don’t want you killing my father. Give Henry control,Tyrus. Your aura is too heavy. Connor won’t want his pups around you while you’re like this, and the pack won’t be able to handle this aura. I need you to calm down for me,” | say, watching as his eyes flicker from Tyrus to Henry as Henry regains controt.

As soon as his grip on me loosens, I slide my hands around his neck and into his hair. I continue to watch his eyes, until they are back to Henry’s sage green.

“There you are,” I say softly.

“You told me your father was an asshole, you didnt mention how much of an asshole he is,” he growls. I run my nails over his scalp, feeling his body shiver at my touch.

“We’ve had more important things to talk about than my father.”

“I don’t know who brought the wrath of Quirin out of Henry, but I pity them,” Connor says, walking over, still watching Henry carefully. “Are you good now?”

“Yeah,” he says, sighing and pressing his forehead against mine. “Sorry for blasting you and Bosche with my aura.”

“No problem. If someone insulted Madison, he and I would be furious too. If you’re ready, let’s go inside. We can talk about what got you so upset,” Connor says. He’s a lot like his father. He stays calm in the face of fury and crisis, giving space where needed, then offering support.

When Henry finally releases me, I take his hand. We turn and I see twin boys watching us. They look from Henry to Connor, then back.

“Well, what are you waiting for?” Henry says, reining in the last of his anger and crouching down.

“UNCLE HENRY!” the boys yell and rush into Henry s arms.

“Have you boys met Piper?” he asks, standing with a pup in each arm.

“No,” one says.

“Hi Piper,” the other says.

They’re a bit older than Quirin and Kennedy’s quadruplets.

“Hi, what are your names?” I ask.

“I’m Cole,” the first one says.

“And I’m Maden.”

They both have the look of their father, which is to say they look like all the Hill men.

“Uncle Henry!” a little girl who is closer to the twins age says, rushing over on her little legs.

As I watch, Henry expertly swings the twins onto his back before scooping up the little girl.

“Hello, beautiful,” he says, kissing her on the cheek.I wink at her when she tucks her face against Henry’s neck.

“This is Piper, Morgan. Piper, this is Morgan.”

“Hi, Morgan,” I say while she shyly keeps her face pressed against Henry’s chest.

“Hey, Piper,” Yana says, walking out. I met the middle Hill previously when I was in Yorick and Cyra’s pack.
