The Pack's Luna: The Pack Series Book 4 novel Chapter 41

Henry

This week away from Piper has been difficult just like l knew it would be. It was made more difficult knowing that 1 couldn’t be there for her white she’s been dealing with the stress of her father’s phone call.

In addition, I’m annoyed with Justine, and I need to take time this weekend to call Kennedy and Quirin to speak with them about going to Alpha Patrick’s pack next weekend to do the paternity test. I want answers so can move forward or put this behind me, one way or the other.

However, today is Friday and lcan’t wait to see my mate. get to spend two full days with her and Tyrus has finally stopped moping in my head.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” Dallas says as | jog down the stairs of the packhouse with my bag on my shoulder.

I already know what he’s going to say before he says it.

While everything in my life feels chaotic right now, my pack and especially my Beta and Gamma, have been adding levity to my life ever since Piper gave them the fodder to tease me.

“Dallas…” I growl.

“Don’t growl at him, Alpha. You can’t just go slinging that sort of massive machinery around willy-nilly,” Knox says, grinning as he walks up.”Yeah, and we both know there’s nothing nilly about that willy,” Dallas says.

put my hands on my hips and look down trying really hard not to laugh.

“I don’t need our Luna making me her bitch because you carelessly slapped me with that huge fucking cock of yours. Wait, excuse me, she was very clear that your huge fucking cock is HERS! So you need to be careful, Alpha,” Dallas says.

And that’s when I lose the battle. I give up, throw my head back and laugh.

“Oh, fuck, I hate you guys,” I say, when I finally catch my breath.

“We love you too, Alpha. Tell our Luna we love her and miss her.”

“If you need me and can’t reach me, we’ll be in Yorick and Cyra’s pack this weekend.”

“We’ll be fine,” Dallas says, grinning at me. “Have fun.”

I should probably take the time on the drive to call Q, but I’m too excited and wired about seeing my mate to have a decent conversation with him. And besides, I want Piper to be a part of that conversation. No matter what happens, I want her involved in this. I’m not keeping secrets from her, and I want her to always know that she’s my partner in every part of my life. When we arrive, Tyrus picks her scent out of the other students. It instantly calms him and I walk faster, wanting her in my arms. When we walk inside the dormitories, I find her talking with Hacker.

“I thought you’d want to know before you left for the weekend,” he says.

I walk up behind her, seeing the tension in her body.” What is it, Piper?” I ask, wrapping an arm around her. She leans into me, but doesn’t look away from the paper in front of her.

“Are you sure about this, Hacker?”

“Yes. Sphinx found it, I triple checked it, and I even had Hijack check it. We’re positive, Piper.”

She hands me the paper. “Okay, I didn’t see that coming.

Obviously, you had no idea,” I say, pressing my lips to the top of her head.

“No, but it explains a lot.” She turns and looks up at me. “I need to go to Quirin’s pack. I need to talk with her face to face.”

“Of course. I’ll take you. We can call Yorick and Cyra on the way and let them know something has come up.”

“I’m sorry. I know the alliance agreement is really important…”

“You are the most important thing to me, Piper. The alliance agreement can wait. It has up until now. It’s notLike I wouldn’t come if Yorick and Cyra needed me just because I don’t have a piece of paper saying we’re allies.”

“Thanks, Henry.”

I tilt her face up to mine. “I’m with you, Piper, no matter what.”

I take the bag she has over her shoulder, thanking Hacker for the information before leading Piper to the car.

She’s quiet as we pull out of the Academy parking lot. I call Yorick.

“You’re not cancelling on me, are you?” he says, his tone joking.

“Actually, yes, l am. Something has come up, something that can’t wait. I need to reschedule.”

“Is everything alright?” he asks, instantly serious.

“I’m not sure yet,” I say, glancing at Piper.
