Henry
As soon as Quirin mentioned Alpha Glenn selling Piper, I knew he was right. I knew Piper didn’t think much of her father, but after listening to Vivienne’s story, it’s obvious that Alpha Glenn has no respect for women. Not only that, he abuses his power as an Alpha in the worst possible way, and he’s a murderer. He may not be selling his daughters to pay his debts like Cyra’s father did, but it’s still illegal. And knowing that Piper would never agree to a forced mate bond, I wonder what Alpha Glenn’s plans were to force her.
Not that matters now, though. If he comes anywhere near my mate, Ill kill him.
“So, we have one Alpha who is a murderer and another who is an accessory to murder and possibly a murderer, that remains to be seen. The Council is going to love this,” Q says.
“Let’s not forget selling his daughters into unwanted mate bonds,” I growl.
Piper continues to run her fingers through my hair, scratching my scalp with her nails like she knows I like.
She kisses my cheek and I pull her even more tightly against me, needing to feel her safe in my arms.
“Now that this is finally out in the open, thank the goddess, can we talk about something that has beeneating at me for a long time?” Vivienne asks.
“There’s only one thing?” Q asks, in his usual dry tone.
“The biggest thing, I guess,” she says.
“What is it, Vivienne? You’ve had the longest amount of time to process all of this,” I say.
She looks at Piper. “I told you my mother wasn’t the only one. How many women has he forced into prostitution?
How many women is he exploiting? How many women has he killed? And how many other half siblings do we have out there who need our help?”
My mate slumps against me as the full weight of who her father is and what he’s been doing for years hits her.
“Do you know any of the other women?” Quirin asks.
Vivienne shakes her head. “My mother did. That’s how I know there were others. She tried to keep me away from all of that, not that she was able to. When you live on the streets …”
“You’re safe now and that won’t change,” Piper says vehemently.
| look at Quirin. We know each other well enough to know that neither of us will let this go.
“We need to call your friend Hacker,” Q says.
“Let’s do that first. He’s in Yorick and Cyra’s pack andWendy will be with him. He can let us know if the two of them can do this or if they’ll need the entire team,” Piper says.
“You don’t need to stay for the call, Vivienne,” Quirin says.
“But I may have that job for you.”
“What job? I have money,” Piper says, instantly protective.
“Every pack member wants a role in the pack, Piper. I’m sure with Vivienne, being new, has been trying to find a place where she belongs and can contribute,” I say gently, kissing Piper’s shoulder.
Piper looks at Vivienne. “Alpha Henry is right. I want to pull my weight. I don’t want to be a burden on the pack.
What did you have in mind Alpha Quirin?”
“Recruiter.”
