To Love a Shadow To Be the Sun novel Chapter 356

As she finished speaking, Elara's eyelid twitched.

"What's wrong?" Summer asked, noticing her uneasy expression.

"Nothing. Do I have to go?" Elara asked.

Summer smiled. "You're a shareholder of Ignition Dynamics. You should try not to miss important company events. What if I get sick one day…"

"Don't say that! Take it back!" Elara interrupted.

Summer laughed and corrected herself, "What if I need to take a day off for a date? You'll have to hold down the fort for me."

Elara breathed a sigh of relief. "We have a clear division of labor. I handle the tech, you handle the management and external affairs. It works perfectly. No need to change anything."

Despite her words, Elara went with Summer the next day.

When they arrived at their destination, she finally understood why her eyelid had been twitching. The new factory was located near the place where Lina had hired a fake taxi driver to abduct her and feed her to wild dogs.

The guide showing them around explained, "This factory has been closed for several years, but it's the best-preserved of the abandoned facilities in the area. Although this district has been neglected for a long time, it's been designated as a key development zone. In the future, this whole area will be filled with corporate facilities."

Georgia Donnelly glanced at Elara. "Director Jules, have you heard anything about the development plans for this area?"

Elara understood the subtext: she was hinting that Elara could ask Zane for inside information.

She smiled faintly. "Ms. Donnelly, you should trust your own judgment."

Georgia gave a stiff smile, recognizing the barb, and turned to chat with Summer instead.

When they reached a corner, Summer paused. "This place is huge; it'll take forever to see everything. Why don't we split up? Elara, you check out the lab facilities. Ms. Donnelly, you can inspect the layout and structural integrity of the main building. I'll go to the second floor to see if the loading bays are suitable for modification. Let's meet back here in ten minutes."

Summer had just nodded when he was suddenly standing right in front of her. Before she could ask another question, a dagger plunged into her heart.

A jolt went through her body, but she remained surprisingly calm. "Why?" she asked softly.

The man chuckled. "Because you have the wrong blood running through your veins." Seeing her confusion, he added coldly, "I don't kill people who don't know why they're dying. Someone did a DNA test on you and found your birth parents. The thing is, you never should have been born into their family. Understand?"

Summer suddenly remembered the hair clip Pearl had touched at the gala; her hair had been missing from it. But what Pearl didn't know was that she and Elara had swapped clips that day.

So Elara was… She understood now. She understood everything.

Seeing the look of realization on her face, the man assumed she knew her true identity. He shoved her, and she tumbled down the stairs.

Just as Elara reached the bottom of the staircase…
