The first thing he did was hit her up for a multi–million dollar project with AE.

Seriously? The nerve.

Not that she could help him anyway. But even if she could, she wouldn’t lift a finger for him. If anything, she’d love to see him lose everything and end up broke and alone. There was no way she’d help him get rich. He could keep dreaming.

Olivia let out a laugh, her smile sharp and cold. “Amanda, drop your act. You really think you’re in a position to help anyone? I was just messing with you, but you took the bait and started acting like you’re still some big shot.”

She leaned in, voice dripping with mockery. “Your engagement to Travis is over. Do you even have anything to do with him anymore? You were left at the altar. I’m feeling second–hand embarrassment for you.

“And you’re still hanging around London? If I were you, I’d have disappeared ages ago!”

Olivia and Amanda had always clashed. How could the daughter of the first wife possibly get along with the mistress‘ kid? So when Olivia found out Amanda had managed to snag the most powerful man in London, she’d nearly lost it from jealousy.

But now look–Travis had dumped Amanda, called off the engagement. Olivia knew exactly how much that had to sting. Honestly, it made her day.

It was just a shame she hadn’t been invited to the party. She would’ve loved to see Amanda’s face when she got dumped. That would have been the cherry on top.

Amanda gave her a tight, fake smile. “Why would I want to disappear? So what if Travis and I broke off the engagement? It’s just a breakup. We fell out of love. What’s so humiliating about that? Couples split up all the time, even right before the wedding.

“At least Travis and I were official, out in the open.”

Amanda glanced at Olivia, her eyes full of wicked amusement. “But you are the mistress‘ daughter, social climbing every chance you get. That’s more embarrassing for me.”

“You bitch! I’ve had enough of you!” Olivia shrieked, lunging at her.

Amanda just snorted. A few words were all she could handle?

As Olivia charged, Amanda stepped to the side, smooth as ever.

“Watch those heels,” she said lightly. “Would hate to see you twist your ankle.”

“Aah-!”

Olivia went sprawling onto the floor. Amanda heard a nasty popping sound, and a second later Olivia was on the ground, sweating and pale from the pain. Looked like a serious injury, but honestly, it served her right for coming at Amanda like that.

Amanda didn’t feel the slightest bit sorry. She crouched down beside Olivia, looking her over with a smirk.
