Chapter 59
Amanda slid into the car and barely had time to settle in before Travis draped a cloak over her shoulders.
“It’s chilly tonight. Don’t want you catching cold,” he said.
“Thanks,” Amanda replied, her voice calm and even.
Travis handed her a beautifully wrapped box. Amanda blinked in surprise.
“For me?”
Travis smiled softly, his eyes dropping to hers, all deep and gentle. “It’s just us here. Who else would it be for?”
Amanda shrugged, a little smile tugging at her lips. “Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it.”
Travis leaned back, looking amused. “You’re surprised I got you a present?”
Amanda let out a small laugh. “Yeah. It’s been, what, two or three years since you last gave me anything? You used to have your assistant send gifts every so often, but that stopped ages ago. I stopped waiting for presents from you a long time ago.”

“Okay,” Amanda said, heading inside.
But as soon as she opened the door, she stopped short. David and Leila were already there, sitting together. Amanda froze for a beat, then broke into a smile.
Leila gave her a bright, sugary grin. “Oh! Amanda, what a coincidence! You’re here for dinner too?”
Amanda raised an eyebrow, her smile turning sly. She was starting to really enjoy Leila’s little games.
She’d thought Leila wasn’t going to make a move, but here she was, waiting right in the middle of things. That was so Leila.
“Yeah, I’m here with Travis. He’s outside on the phone,” Amanda said.
Leila covered her mouth in mock apology. “Oh, I’m so sorry, I just always come to room eight because
