Amanda was fuming. Seriously, why did Chad have to drag David into this mess?

Her jinx only worked face-to-face, or she’d have cursed that so-called “best sidekick” David into oblivion by now. Next time she saw him, he’d better watch out.

She wasted no time making her stance clear in the group chat.

Amanda: [I’m not going.]

Did they really think she was that naive? She was pretty sure Chad wouldn’t actually kill Leila. But if she showed up, who knew what would happen to her? She wasn’t about to be some kind of martyr and trade herself for Leila.

David: [How can you be so selfish?]

[He’s just asking you to swap places with Leila, it’s not like he’s asking you to die!]

Amanda saw Travis' firm response, but it didn’t make her feel any safer. He’d picked Leila over her too many times before. And with a psycho like Chad, there was always another trick up his sleeve.

Right on cue, Chad sent a video to the group.

The preview was just a black screen.

Amanda clicked anyway.

Instantly, disgusting sounds and images filled her phone. She only managed a split-second look before she slammed it shut.

Chad was a monster. What he’d done to Leila… and then he filmed it? Unbelievable.

David listened to the video and immediately sent a voice message to the group. Amanda hit play.
