Too Pretty to Be Your Backup novel Chapter 83

Travis' eyes burned red, his whole body radiating an energy that made the air feel sharp and dangerous.

He snapped at the driver, “Just ram it!”

The driver looked panicked but tried to keep his voice steady. “Sir, we can’t. That’s a loaded semi up ahead. Our Maybach’s no match for it. We’ll be the ones totaled.”

And he was right. Up ahead, the truck was blocking the road completely, massive and unmoving. Smashing into it would destroy their car and possibly kill them all.

The truck driver had already made his move—he yanked the keys from the ignition, jumped out, and hopped onto a motorcycle waiting at the side of the road. In seconds, he disappeared into the night to meet up with his crew.

Travis pulled out his phone, his hands shaking with rage. “Don’t let them out of your sight. Not even for a second.”

“Yes, sir. We’ve got them in view,” came the reply.

That steadied Travis a little. He ended the call and turned to his driver. “Get backup. Now.”

“On it, sir.”

Travis threw open the car door and stepped out. His long strides and sharp movements sliced through the dark, making him look like something out of a nightmare.

David was just getting to his feet when Travis slammed into him with a brutal kick, sending him flying across the pavement. He landed hard by the roadside, gasping for air.

Travis didn’t even hesitate. He grabbed David by the hair and smashed his head against the ground.
