Leila staggered, her whole body trembling as her face went ghostly pale.
“Wh-what are you talking about?” she stammered.
Amanda’s lips curled into a slow, knowing smile. “Oh, you really haven’t heard, have you? Chad sent that little video of you and him to Travis. He saw it. So did I. And David, too. Travis doesn’t want to see you anymore. Guess he’s just disgusted, huh?”
Leila’s knees buckled, and she collapsed onto the floor, panic spreading across her delicate features.
“No… no way… Chad wouldn’t do that…”
Why would Chad ever send a video of them together to Travis?
He’d never do something like that.
Amanda had to be bluffing. Yeah, she was definitely making this up!
“You’re lying! That never happened!” Leila shot back, her voice shaking.
With her arms crossed, Amanda stared down at Leila, her smile full of mockery.
“Leila, you know exactly what’s true and what isn’t. And I have the video. Want me to send you a copy?”
That was all it took for Leila to snap. She lunged at Amanda, her hands curled into fists.
Amanda might be hurt, but she was far from helpless. Leila was the fragile one here.
As Leila launched herself at her, Amanda grabbed Leila’s wrists and shoved her hard.
Leila hit the floor again.
Amanda’s expression was cold, almost bored.
“You had this coming, Leila. You tried teaming up with Chad to screw me over, and look where it got you. Played yourself, didn’t you?”
Amanda was no fool.
Chad and Leila were both out to get her, and now Leila just happened to get kidnapped by Chad right after leaving the airport?
How did Chad even know where she was?
Amanda was pretty sure the kidnapping had been planned.
Either Chad changed his mind last minute, or he’d been plotting something from the start.
Leila tried to be sneaky but only ended up losing everything.
Leila’s eyes were wild, completely unhinged. “I’m gonna kill you!”
She hurled the liquid right at Amanda.
Amanda reacted instantly, whipping the blanket up to shield herself. Then, without thinking, she rushed forward and threw the blanket over Leila’s head instead.
Leila screamed, panic and terror exploding from under the blanket.
“Ah! Help! Somebody help!”
There was acid on that blanket—if it touched her face, she’d be done for.
She only wanted to ruin Amanda, not herself!
Leila thrashed and wailed, caught between fear and despair.
Amanda’s heart pounded, but she stayed focused.
If she hadn’t already survived being stabbed once, maybe she would’ve lost it.
But after that, moments like this somehow made her even calmer.
