Urging Him to Get a Divorce (Aveline and Xavier) novel Chapter 725

Ryan stood watching Mr. Beltran’s receding figure, a faint, ironic smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. The meeting they had planned was crucial, yet Mr. Beltran hadn’t uttered a single word about why it was abruptly canceled or what the next steps would be. How exactly was Ryan supposed to explain this sudden change to everyone waiting inside? The thought left him feeling powerless and frustrated.

Resigned, Ryan made his way back into the room and announced, “Mr. Beltran has an urgent matter to attend to. The meeting is postponed for now, and we’ll inform you later about when it will be rescheduled.” There was no room for questions, and the uncertainty hung in the air like a thick fog.

Meanwhile, Xavier slid into the car beside Amy and said curtly, “Call the investigators. I want to speak with them directly.” Without hesitation, Amy picked up her phone and dialed. “Hold on, Mr. Beltran wants to talk to you,” she said, then passed the phone back to Xavier.

“Mr. Beltran, this is Douglas Wright. The one with me is Alexander Wright,” came the introduction from the other end. But Xavier was too tense to pay attention to their names. Gripping the phone tightly, he asked immediately, “Are you still on the road?”

“Yes, Mr. Beltran. We’re still driving, almost at Mount Ardwood now,” Douglas replied.

Xavier’s voice hardened. “Has that bastard been tailing my wife the entire time? Has he done anything reckless or dangerous?”

“No, sir. Bryan has been keeping his distance, just following her car all the way to Mount Ardwood,” Douglas assured him.

Xavier’s mind raced, and he pressed on, “What happened at the gas station? What did Bryan do to her there?”

There was a pause, and Douglas’s tone grew cautious, tinged with guilt. “After she finished filling up and was about to leave, Bryan stopped her and said something. We were inside the car and couldn’t hear what exactly.”

Douglas continued, “She then ran into the convenience store at the gas station. A gas station employee came out, walked her back to her car, and helped her drive away safely.”

Xavier’s voice turned icy. “So you just sat there in the car and watched that asshole harass my wife?”

Douglas was taken aback by the accusation but quickly defended himself. “Mr. Beltran, we didn’t even know it was your wife. We’ve never seen her before, and she was wearing sunglasses.”

Xavier’s anger flared. “Even if it wasn’t her, you saw a woman being harassed by some jerk and didn’t step in?”

In the end, he typed out a message anyway: [I’ve sent people to watch Bryan. They told me he’s been causing you trouble.]
[Once you arrive at Mount Ardwood, call or text me.]
[I’m on my way there now.]
[Don’t be scared. My men are following Bryan closely; he won’t get near you.]

Meanwhile, Aveline’s phone sat mounted beside the driver’s seat. When the notification chimed, she glanced at the screen, saw it was a message from Xavier, and deliberately ignored it.

Upon reaching Mount Ardwood, Aveline usually parked in the underground garage of the Beltran Hotel. But this time, with Bryan still trailing her, she chose to drive straight up to the hotel’s main entrance instead.

She stepped out of the car, locked it firmly, and hurried into the hotel lobby, her eyes scanning the area. The doorman noticed her but didn’t dare mention the parking rules—after all, the manager had instructed the staff to treat her with the same respect as Mr. Beltran himself.

Unable to spot the manager, Aveline approached a nearby employee and asked politely, “Could you please move my car to the underground garage and bring the key to me afterward?”

She then informed the waiter where she would be waiting, her heart still pounding from the tense drive and the lingering threat of Bryan’s pursuit.
