**A Divorce 758**
Chapter 758
Aveline met his gaze, her expression firm yet tinged with exasperation. “Selling a house isn’t a simple task, you know. A property valued at two hundred million isn’t something that just anyone can waltz in and purchase on a whim.” Her voice carried a weight that echoed her frustration, as if the very thought of such a transaction was an insult to her intelligence.
Collin nodded, his brow furrowing slightly. “Fiona will file a petition with the court. She won’t allow Jacob to just dispose of the assets as he pleases.” His tone was resolute, a hint of admiration for Fiona’s tenacity creeping into his words.
Collin took Aveline’s hand in his, gently patting the back of it as if to reassure her. “That’s good, that’s good,” he murmured, his voice warm and fatherly.
Aveline smiled softly, appreciating his support. “Fiona has been a tremendous help to you. We should invite her over for dinner one evening. Grandma and I want to express our gratitude properly.”
Aveline’s smile brightened the room, but she felt a twinge of guilt. “I’ve already thanked Fiona adequately. I can’t have you and Grandma thank her on my behalf.”
“Come on, just let us show our appreciation,” Collin insisted, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “It will mean a lot to her.”
“Give me your phones,” Aveline said, her tone shifting to one of determination. “I’ll block Jacob for you both so he won’t be able to call and harass you again.”
Collin hesitated, his brow furrowing in concern. “But if we block him, what if he has something important to tell us about your mother? What if he needs to reach us?”
Aveline felt a sense of urgency wash over her as she tried to persuade him. “Grandpa, aside from the assets Mom had a stake in, Jacob won’t have anything of value to share about her.”
“I’ve managed to retrieve most of Mom’s paintings. I can’t be sure if Jacob still has any left. He and Courtney might have hidden them away.” Her voice was laced with worry, the thought of her mother’s art being lost to time gnawing at her.
“If Jacob reaches out to us again, it will only be because he’s desperate for our help,” she added, her tone firm.
“I’ve already blocked him,” Aveline declared, her resolve unshakeable. “If he wants to get in touch, he’ll have to go through my lawyer.”
“But if it’s something urgent and he can’t reach you, he’ll come to me,” Collin said, his voice tinged with concern.
“Just let me handle everything, okay?” Aveline’s eyes held a fierce determination that left no room for argument.
Paulina sighed, her shoulders slumping slightly. “Alright, let’s heed Chloe’s advice then.”
Reluctantly, both Collin and Paulina handed their phones over to Aveline. With a few swift motions, she blocked Jacob’s number and his WhatsApp, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders.
“There, now you two can sleep peacefully. I’ve got this under control. I won’t let Jacob and Courtney get away with anything,” she reassured them, her voice steady.
“We’ll handle everything legally,” Collin added, his tone resolute.
“Jacob isn’t capable of running the company. Collin, Paulina, if you want to see him hit rock bottom, you will,” Aveline continued, her voice unwavering.

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
