Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 100

Chapter 78

Friday night, after work, Ashley returned to Chase’s villa. She found him home, which was unusual. He was on a phone call, glancing at her before turning back to the call.

The butler knew she was taking Sam to the Jones residence that night.

He’d prepared food for them to eat before leaving, but Ashley planned to eat at Amanda’s.

“No, thank you,” she said.

“But… the butler said, looking to Chase.

Chase heard that and moved his phone away.”Do as she says.” He returned to his call.

Ashley told Sam, “Sam, let’s go.”

“Okay. Sam greeted Chase. “Dad, we’re leaving now. Goodbye.”

Chase waved casually.”Goodbye.”

Ashley didn’t speak to Chase. He, too, only said goodbye to Sam before continuing his call, watching them leave.

Amanda’s birthday party was extravagant.

After dinner at the Jones residence, Ashley helped with preparations. They finished everything at eleven o’clock.

Ashley woke early the next day. Before breakfast, she joined Steve and others around Amanda, offering birthday wishes and gifts.

Seeing the gift-giving, Sam paused, tugging at Ashley’s sleeve.

Ashley bent down.”What’s up?”

Sam’s face was flushed. He whispered, “Mom, why didn’t you remind me? I didn’t prepare a gift…”

Ashley replied, “Your father and I did. You’re a child; you don’t need to.

But if you want to make your great-grandmother happy, remember to give her a present on her next birthday.”

Ashley’s tone was somewhat cold. It was true that she didn’t remind Sam.

But if he cared, he would have thought to get a gift, because he knew it was Amanda’s birthday. It didn’t have to be expensive or elaborate.

A drawing or something like that would have been enough.

But he hadn’t thought of it at all. Yet, he would remember Tanya’s birthday and count down the days. Ashley hadn’t bothered to remind him; she’d already seen how little he cared about this.

Sam, oblivious to the coolness in Ashley’s eyes, relaxed after hearing that.

After Steve presented his gift, Ashley offered hers. First, the painting.

‘Grandma, Emily had Chase send this painting to you.”

Amanda examined it, clearly pleased. It was exactly to her liking.”She knows me best,” she murmured.

Ashley then presented the emeralds.”These are from Chase.”
