Chapter 88
Maintaining a respectful distance, Jeffery said, “You’re truly dedicated to your studies, Miss Mond.”
“Mr. Cooper, I’m flattered.” Tanya said. “It’s precisely because I’ve recognized my shortcomings.”
Her humility impressed him even further.
Jeffery and Benjamin were at Speed for work. Their company, Vertical, was collaborating with Speed. Eternal, Speed, and Vertical were actually working on the same project-Eternal and Speed on the system technology, Vertical and Speed on the materials.
Seeing them, Zoey Walter, another project lead in Speed, approached.
They walked toward Ashley and Tim.”Mr. Reed, these are…”
Tim looked up, raising an eyebrow.”I know who they are.”
Only then did Ashley notice Tanya. She didn’t look up, continuing her work.
Zoey smiled. Mr. Reed, you know Mr. Cooper and Mr. Hunter?”
Yes Tim replied. They were all from the city’s elite circles, and it was a small circle.
Jeffery and Benjamin exchanged greetings with Tim and joined Zoey to discuss work. Tanya remained with Tim. She saw Ashley but quickly looked away. .”Mr. Reed, did you just arrive?”
Even though Tim’s bias towards her was evident, she still wanted to build a relationship with him-she anticipated they’d spend more time together once she became Burke’s student.
“It’s been half an hour,” Tim replied casually, writing notes.”You seem to have been here a while, Miss Mond.”
“Well, I arrived in the morning, and then I was a little tired after working for hours, so I went upstairs for a drink of water and a rest.”
The upstairs clearly referred to Chase’s office.
Tim paused, his tone colder.”Really? So Mr. Sterling is here, too?”.
No, he’s at Sterling Corp.”
So, even without Chase, Tanya could freely enter and exit his office? He kept nothing from her?
Tim nodded. Then, he approached Ashley, pointing to something on his notepad. Ashley glanced at it, nodded, and returned to her work.
Tanya asked, “Which part went wrong? Can I help?”
Tim’s tone was flat.”Miss Mond, I’m working.”
Before Tanya could reply, Ashley approached Tim, giving him a set of data. The moment Tanya saw Ashley, her expression hardened. Ashley, who had been silent, gave Tanya a cold stare before leaving with Tim to resume their work.
Tanya needed to process some data, so she returned to the conference room, Jeffery and Benjamin were finalizing contract details.
“Was there a problem?” Jeffery asked.
They hadn’t heard their conversation. From their perspective, Tanya and Tim had seemed to be chatting pleasantly.
But then Ashley abruptly pulled Tim away and gave Tanya a sharp glare. It seemed she suspected Tanya of trying to seduce Tim.
Tanya, her gaze fixed on her screen, said coldly, “No. I was simply asking Mr. Reed a professional question.”
