Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 117

Chapter 95

Ashley wasn’t surprised. Sam had practically begged her not to attend, hoping Tanya to replace her. Chase wouldn’t let Tanya go alone. She replied to Sam’s teacher, I know. Thank you.”

The week flew by. On Friday morning, Zark called Ashley, saying Betty wanted to go camping.

Ashley paused. Overnight?”

Yes, Zark said. “Don’t worry about safety. I’ve arranged everything-sleeping bags, tents, heaters. Just bring yourself.”

“Okay.”

On Saturday morning, Ashley had lunch with her family at the Jones residence and inquired about her uncle’s new project. Reassured, she left for the campsite in the afternoon.

Zark and Betty had arrived. His staff were setting up tents and grills. The recent snow had left a thick blanket of white.

Seeing her, Betty pulled her to build a snowman. She had often built snowmen with Sam.

They quickly finished a small snowman. Betty then found a scarf and carrot for it.

Zark approached. Ashley didn’t speak to him. He crouched beside her.”You’re working at Eternal now?”

She was still working on the snowman.”Mm-hmm.”

Remembering her indifference towards Chase and Tanya at Speed, he asked, “Since when?”

A while ago.”

He wanted more details, but she seemed indifferent, so he changed the subject.

Five times total.”

She understood; he was asking her to hang out with Betty for five times.

“Got it.”

Betty returned with two scarves, wanting to build a larger snowman next to the smaller one, like her and Ashley.

She instructd Zark to help, and he complied silently.

After finishing the big snowman, Betty asked for photos. Zark, using his phone, took several pictures of Ashley’s smile.

Time flew. As dusk fell, the smell of food came from the grill, and the tents lit up.

Zark asked, ‘Is seafood okay with you?”

“Mm-hmm.

He offered her some skewers. Many were camping. The tents weren’t cramped, creating a festive atmosphere. They heard there was a bonfire later.

Interested? Zark asked.

‘Doesn’t matter to me. Your choice.”

Zark’s phone rang. It was Ethan. He stepped away to answer it.

Ethan asked, “Drinks?”

“No, I’m good.”

“What are-

Betty ran over, holding a skewer.”Uncle, chicken wings!”

Zark took it. Ethan heard that.”You’re having a barbecue?”

“Mm-hmm.”
