Chapter 108

Before Chase could respond, his assistant said, “Mr. Plunkett is here.”

‘Show him in

Mr. Plunkett was led to Chase’s meeting room. They shook hands.

Please sit.’

Mr. Plunkett placed the signed agreement before Chase. Ethan, wanting to see if Ashley had actually signed, leaned in. Seeing her signature, he exclaimed, “She actually signed?!”

Chase looked at the signature, then began discussing the agreement with Mr. Plunkett. “The properties and shares are numerous. I need time to handle the transfers. I’ll contact you when it’s done.”

“Okay.”

Chase instructed his assistant to see Mr. Plunkett off. Mr. Plunkett contacted Ashley.

She frowned. “How long will this take?”

“It depends on Mr. Sterling.”

Thank you, Mr. Plunkett.”

The next day, Ashley went to Eternal. Tim received a call. He frowned.

“What?” she asked.

He showed her his phone: It was Jeffery. They knew each other, though not well. Tim wondered why he was calling.

After talking to Jeffery, Tim said,”He wants to collaborate on a new project.”

The two projects Ashley was leading were important, with government collaboration. The projects’ bright future would attract many partners once announced. Jeffery had contacted them early.

Tim scoffed. Derek Cooper is a cunning old fox.”

Derek, being in such a powerful position, giving his son something directly from the horse’s mouth was expected. It was common practice among the elite. Tim was used to it. He said through gritted teeth, “We need partners to expand the project, but I’m not fond of Jeffery…”

Ashley knew he was annoyed about Jeffery’s feelings for Tanya. She remained calm.”The project’s success is paramount. Everything else is secondary.” She’d met Derek once. He might have personal biases, but Burke’s attitude suggested he was trustworthy.

Tim said, “I know.” He was just venting. He huffed.”We still have time before we officially solicit investments. I’ll just leave him hanging for now.”

Ashley smiled. “Okay. His mood mattered.

After Jeffery’s call, they continued their discussion. Half an hour later, Tim’s phone rang again. He looked at the caller ID with a mix of disdain and

satisfaction.

Ashley knew it was another familiar guy.”…Who’s that?”

Tim smiled.”Zark Green.”

For collaboration again?”

“Highly likely.” Tim barely knew Zark and Ethan, and if it wasn’t for business, they wouldn’t be calling. Both the Green and Cooper families had connections in politics and the military; their access to information was excellent.

“Shall I answer it?” Tim asked. He disliked Zark man than he disliked Jeffery. Zark had taken Tanya’s side and looked down upon Ashley.
