Chapter 196
A sizable crowd surrounded Ashley and Tim. As Mr. Price and Professor Linkletter approached, the onlookers were about to greet them when Mr. Price smiled and gestured for silence. He and the others stood at the edge, listening to Ashley and Tim.
Many attendees were graduates of prestigious universities, possessing considerable knowledge and ability. While Ashley and Tim were answering questions, they occasionally found others with whom they could engage in deeper discussions. Those with sufficient knowledge found the exchange stimulating; others, particularly when the conversation turned to raw materials and manufacturing processes, felt completely lost. Professor Linkletter and Mr. Price were clearly among the former. Tanya, though having trouble keeping up, mostly understood.
Ashley and Tim had already gauged the knowledge gap between themselves and the audience, so they’d subconsciously simplified the explanations. Professor Linkletter and Mr. Price were captivated.
Just as they were listening, someone in the front noticed them and exclaimed, “That’s Mr. Price and Professor Linkletter!”
Ashley and Tim turned to see them, as well as Chase, Tanya, and Ethan. Naturally, they ignored the latter three.
Tim stopped and joined Ashley in greeting them.”Mr. Price, Professor Linkletter.”
Mr. Price smiled, clapping.”No wonder you’re Burke’s student.”
Tim smiled, but before he could speak, Mr. Price continued, “What surprises me is not your brilliance, but the woman next to added, “May I have an introduction?”
Tim smiled. This is Ashley Jones. A technician in Eternal.”
you.
She’s amazing.” He
“A technician,” Mr. Price echoed.”I can’t believe your company boasts another outstanding young talent! No wonder it’s thriving.”
Tim replied modestly.”You flatter us.”
Professor Linkletter also greeted them.
Tanya was genuinely surprised to hear Ashley’s smooth and knowledgeable speech. Apparently, Ashley wasn’t as mediocre as she seemed and she must have been diligently learning from Tim. However, materials science was only a part of it. Given Ashley’s early university graduation, her learning capacity was undoubtedly exceptional. It wasn’t surprising she’d gone this far.
Tanya had initially been impressed by Ashley’s academic achievements: skipping grades in high school and getting into the country’s best university. Yet, over the next few years, she learned that Ashley’s university performance paled in comparison to her high school success. She hadn’t participated in many international competitions. In contrast, despite having lower high school scores, Tanya had won numerous awards in college, which allowed her to secure a spot in a top-tier graduate program and eventually earn her doctorate.
Thinking this, Tanya watched Ashley and smiled faintly without speaking. She glanced at Chase. He appeared indifferent, his gaze elsewhere, as if unmoved by Mr. Price’s praise about Ashley. Like Tanya, he didn’t seem to find Ashley particularly impressive.
Tanya smiled inwardly.
To Ethan, advanced materials and Al were gibberish. Seeing Ashley converse fluently and receiving effusive praise from Mr. Price, he was stunned. He turned to Chase and Tanya.”She… she’s actually that good?”
Before Chase could say anything, Tanya smiled. “What do you think?”
Ethan was speechless. How would he know? If he knew, he wouldn’t have asked. Judging from Tanya and Chase’s reactions, however, Ashley may not
