Chapter 351

Catherine pursed her lips and scoffed, “Taking on that many big projects all at once? They better be careful they don’t bite off more than they can chew.” As Catherine said this, there was actually no real conviction behind her words; if anything, they just sounded like sour grapes.
After all, if Eternal dared to take on that many projects, they could usually handle them.
Catherine’s father, Jay, was just as sour.
Thinking about how the Mond Family and Speed were constantly hitting roadblocks in tech R&D, while Eternal seemed to have no bottlenecks at all, she couldn’t help but blurt out, “I wonder how Tim recruits. How does he always find such incredible talent?”
Ever since Eternal shot to fame, both Speed and the Mond Family’s tech company had actually tried to poach their employees.
However, after Eternal became famous, countless major tech companies, both domestic and international, wanted to poach their engineers. The Mond Family’s tech company and Speed simply had no leverage.
So, even with attractive offers, they still struggled to poach truly exceptional talent.
And even with major global players openly and covertly poaching their staff, Eternal still managed to churn out new innovations now and then. This clearly showed that Eternal likely had a significant number of innovative minds.
Just this point alone was enough to spark envy, jealousy, and even resentment.
Hearing that, Tanya looked down, tearing her bread in the plate, and remained silent.
While both the Mond Family and the Holdens wished Tanya could help with tech breakthroughs,
the more they delved into the industry, the clearer it became that technological breakthroughs were no easy feat.
So, seeing Tanya stay quiet, they didn’t press her, figuring she was likely just as troubled by Speed’s tech hurdles.
The next day.
Ashley headed to the conference room for a meeting. Shortly after she took her seat, Tim arrived.
Before the meeting even started, Tim leaned over to Ashley. “My mom mentioned this morning that a particular auction house has been buzzing lately,” he said. “They’re about to auction off an incredibly rare diamond. I remember you once said your aunt really loves diamonds. Want to check out the
auction event?”
Ashley paused, a little surprised.”Are you sure?” she asked.
“Positive.”
Tim remembered this because he and Ashley hadn’t actually known each other that long back then. At the time, a rare diamond happened to be up for auction, with an opening bid over two hundred million.
Ashley was only sixteen back then.
Back then, it was also the first time he learned her true background.
He only found our then, when she mentioned it, that she wanted to give her mother diamonds because Lucy absolutely adored them.
Especially high-grade diamonds.
She hoped that if she could acquire a top-tier diamond at auction, it might just slowly pull her mother back from her hazy state.
But rare, top-tier diamonds were incredibly hard to come by.
Back then, while the Jones family was doing alright financially, they certainly couldn’t just drop hundreds of millions on a single diamond. Besides, the idea that a top-tier diamond would wake Lucy Jones up was purely Ashley’s wishful thinking.
Whether it would even work was anyone’s guess.
Who would dare bet their entire fortune on that?
