Chapter 355

At the Jones family residence.
Ashley had already discussed the diamond auction with Amanda before she even went to the event.
Amanda watched Ashley, who had just spent a fortune to buy back the brilliantly sparkling diamond. After a long moment, she finally spoke. “Your mother really did love diamonds. But the thing is, if this diamond actually works, it could either bring your mother back to herself, or it could plunge her into an even deeper… state of madness. So… Ashley, hold onto this diamond safely for now. As for using it to treat your mother, let’s wait a while and see how things go before we decide.”
Ashley had actually considered that herself.
She was on board with Amanda’s idea.
But rare diamonds are hard to come by. If she missed this chance, who knew how long she’d have to wait? Plus, she was definitely flush with cash these days, so even if she didn’t have an immediate use for it, she still bought the diamond.
Hearing her grandmother say that, she said, “Okay.”
She hadn’t gone to the hospital to see Emily for the past two days.
The next morning, she went to the hospital again.
She arrived quite early. However, when she got to the hospital, Chase and Ethan were both there, but there was no sign of the butler.
Seeing her knock and enter, Chase and Ethan both looked at her.
Ashley just gave Chase a nod as a greeting, then went straight inside to see Emily.
Seeing Ashley completely ignore him, Ethan’s eyes widened. He couldn’t help but turn to Chase and say, “She really acts like she’s above everyone now, doesn’t she?”
Chase sat down, grunted, and said flatly, “So what?”
Ethan:”…”

A little while later, Ashley came out of the ward. Instead of leaving right away, she looked at Chase and asked, “How’s Grandma been doing these past couple of days?”
Chase poured a glass of water and walked over, intending to offer it to her. Ashley shook her head, signaling she didn’t want it. Chase didn’t press her, put the glass down, and said, “She’s getting better. The doctors said at this rate, she might wake up in a few days.”
“Okay, got it.”
Without another word, Ashley turned to leave.
Just then, Chase spoke up: Sam’s at training. He’ll be back tomorrow.”
Honestly, she didn’t really care to know what Sam was up to.
But Ethan was standing nearby, his eyes darting between her and Chase, looking all nosy and gossipy. So, she kept her thoughts to herself, just saying. Got it, before walking away without looking back.
Ethan watched her go until she was out of sight. Only then did he turn his gaze back to Chase.”You know,” he said, you guys seem to be getting along better than before, now that you’re getting divorced.”
Chase didn’t look up from his laptop, typing away.”Oh, really?” he replied, noncommittally,
Usually, when couples divorce, they just tear each other apart.
