Chapter 356
Chase was constantly busy, with no time for him. Ethan sat around for a while, got bored, and couldn’t help but say, “Fine, I’ll just go find Zark.”
Chase didn’t even lift his head, saying coolly, “You think Zark will have time for you?”
Ethan:……
Just as Chase expected, when Ethan arrived at Green Corporation, Zark was indeed busy.
Noticing Zark was also too busy for him, Ethan couldn’t help but say, “You’ve got time for lunch, at least, don’t you?”
Zark turned a page in his file and said, “I have a blind date at noon.”
Ethan:……
But he was actually pretty interested in that topic. He asked, “Your mom’s still setting you up on blind dates non-stop? That one from a few days ago, the one who supposedly started chasing you like crazy after meeting you, how’s that going? Did she finally get the hint and back off?”
Zark hadn’t said a word when his secretary walked in, knocking, arms full of flowers. Her expression was hesitant.”Mr. Green,” she began, these are from that lady again. I couldn’t really send them back, and I didn’t want to hassle the delivery person…”
Zark replied flatly, “Understood. Deal with the flowers yourself. You’re dismissed.”
Understood.”
Once Zark’s secretary was gone, Ethan raised an eyebrow, a chuckle escaping him.”She’s been quiet for a couple of days. I actually thought she’d finally given up. Guess I was wrong, huh?”
Honestly,” Ethan went on, unable to resist, “this Ms. Rawdon, from what I hear, is flawless in every aspect – looks, education, background, personality. What on earth could you possibly find fault with?”
Zark paused, turning his head to give him a look of utter disdain.”Did you seriously come all the way here just to gossip?”
Ethan grinned. “What, just now?”
“Cut it out or get out.”
“No, seriously, Ethan said. “I’ve actually met Ms. Rawdon, and she’s really great. You’re not even considering her?”
Zark shot him a glance, and he quickly said, “Look, you’re not getting any younger, so it’s understandable your mom’s worried. If you don’t like Ms. Rawdon, what kind of girl do you like? Tell me, I’ll set you up…”
Zark put down his pen.”Say one more word, and I swear I’ll have you kicked out.”
Ethan…”
Alright, fine.
Zark really looked like his patience was running thin, so Ethan figured he shouldn’t push it. “No time for lunch, but you gotta have time for dinner, right
“No time for that either.”
“No way, you’re not actually mad, are you?”
Zark paused before replying, I’m heading over to Eternal later. Got plans tonight.”
Ethan heard that and figured Zark would be having dinner with Tim and the others after his business was done.
Knowing it was work, Ethan didn’t pester him any further and left, bored stiff,
Around three in the afternoon, Zark headed to Eternal.
When Ashley learned he’d arrived, she dropped what she was doing and went to meet Zark.
The moment he saw her, Zark practically leaped off the couch.”Long time no see.”
Ashley nodded. “Long time no see.”
It had indeed been a while since they’d last met.
Honestly, Zark didn’t really need to come in person for this matter.
