Chapter 361
Ashley and Chase walked side-by-side away from the hospital room. After they’d gone a little distance, Ashley spoke up first. You can say what you need to say now.”
Chase turned his head to look at Ashley.”Grandma’s condition hasn’t stabilized yet. I’d like to postpone the divorce for a few more days.”
Ashley didn’t look at him. Hearing Chase’s words, her expression remained unsurprised.
After two seconds of silence, she said, “Got it.”
Thanks.” Just as she was about to walk away, Chase spoke up again.”Is there anything you want? As a thank you, I can do my best to help you with something, or grant you a wish.”
Ashley paused at that, her steps faltering slightly, but without turning around, she said in a flat tone, “No thanks. What I want, you wouldn’t be able to give.”
After saying it, she realized he might take it to mean she wanted him to reciprocate her feelings, so she quickly added, “When I said ‘you wouldn’t be able to give it, that’s not what I meant. Not what you’re probably thinking.”
Chase listened, and a faint smile touched his lips. Standing still, he looked at Ashley’s profile, just a couple of steps away, and said, “How do you know what I’m thinking?”
Ashley had no idea what he’d actually taken her words to mean.
His tone told her he wasn’t upset.
Regardless of what he understood, Ashley wasn’t going to respond further.
She turned and walked away in silence.
Chase watched her retreating back and said,”Consider it me owing you a favor then?”
Ashley didn’t stop walking:”Suit yourself.”
That very evening, both the Mond and Holden families received the news that Emily had woken up and that Ashley and Chase’s divorce had been postponed yet again.
Mary: “It’s better Emily’s awake than still in a coma. Her waking up just brings Ashley and Chase’s divorce one step closer. Anyway, it’s all good news.”
Catherine, Ruby, and the others actually thought the exact same thing.
It’s just that Catherine had been down in the dumps these past few days because Zark had rejected her in front of Ashley a few days prior, so she hadn’t spoken up to join the conversation.
Tanya thought the same way too.
She was actually even more desperate than anyone in the Mond or Holden families to see Ashley and Chase officially divorce.
But no matter how anxious she was, with Chase constantly pushing back the divorce because of Emily, she could only understand.
Emily was awake. No matter how she looked at it, she should be happy.
But then she heard Ashley was going to Sterling Corporation tomorrow…
Ashley had only shown a glimpse of her skills at Sterling Corp before and already won over the core R&D team, including Chase.
If Ashley went to Sterling Corp again and showcased her expertise even more, and Chase found out, then…
Tanya lost her appetite, her fork clutched tightly in her hand.
The next day.
After visiting Emily at the hospital with Amanda, Ashley prepared to head to Sterling Corp.
Chase was also at the hospital and knew she was going to Sterling Corp.
< Chapter 361
It was already a bit late when Ashley left the hospital. She didn’t need to go back to Eternal; she could just go straight from the hospital to Sterling Corp.
Chase also needed to return to Sterling Corporation to handle some business.
Normally, they could have gone to Sterling Corp together.
However, neither of them brought it up. Instead, they left the hospital one after the other.
By the time Ashley arrived at Sterling Corp, the conference room was nearly full.

Some time after the meeting officially began, Ashley realized, after finishing a conversation, that Chase had somehow slipped into the conference room.
Ashley glanced at him, then looked away.
Perhaps sensing the doubt in her eyes, as she sat down, a staff member beside her leaned in and whispered with a smile, “Mr. Sterling arrived about ten minutes ago. He wasn’t even supposed to be at this meeting today, but ever since he got here, he’s just been watching you, listening to you talk… It’s pretty clear Mr. Sterling specifically came here for your lecture.”
