Chase had his own important ones, so he didn’t go downstairs to sit in on hers like before.

But as soon as his meeting ended, Jackson and Eldric heard him ask, “The meetings downstairs done? The follow-up solutions sent up yet? If so, bring them over. I wanna see.”

Jackson and Eldric already knew that Chase had been going downstairs to sit in on Ashley’s meetings before.

Hearing Chase say that, Jackson and Eldric exchanged a quick glance, then looked at the pile of documents on Chase’s desk.

Chase was flying out for a business trip tomorrow and had a desk piled high with files he needed to clear today. Ashley’s proposal in their meeting today wouldn’t even start until next month, and this was just a rough draft. He could’ve easily waited until he got back to deal with it.

Still, Eldric fetched the freshly delivered solution.

Even though it was technically just a draft, Ashley already had a solid grip on the subsequent work. So, the report Chase received was surprisingly clear and detailed.

Chase took the report and flipped straight to the action plan.

The jargon was so dense Jackson and Eldric couldn’t follow a thing, but Chase’s eyes lit up.

He skimmed fast-eight, nine pages in under three minutes-until a smile tugged at his lips.

Chase seemed to just be skimming for keywords. Then, Jackson and Eldric watched as his scanning speed picked up, finishing eight or nine pages in less

than three minutes.

By the time he was done, Jackson and Eldric noticed he could barely hide the smile in his eyes.

It was obvious Chase was super happy with the proposal.

Eldric and Jackson watched, about to speak, when Chase closed the file and looked at them. “They’ll probably have a lunch get-together later,” he said. Eldric, go tell them I’ll be there too.”

Eldric and Jackson both froze for a second.

After a beat, Eldric finally said, “Got it.”

Ashley and her team actually did have a lunch gathering planned.

Just as it was time for lunch, Ashley and the others were getting ready to head out when they heard Mr. Harrison, the head of Sterling Corp’s tech department, tell them, Just got word, Mr. Sterling will be joining the lunch gathering too.”

Ashley heard him, but didn’t react.

Tim was there today too. Hearing that, he pursed his lips and couldn’t help but lean into Ashley’s ear.”Given the current progress of our two companies” collaboration, there’s absolutely no need for him to show up and meddle. What’s he doing here?”

Ashley just shook her head.
