Chapter 35
Ashley mumbled, “Hmm, not wanting to talk to him. She called Tim, telling him about the situation and asking them to go without her. “Traffic accidents are messy,’ she said. She’d likely miss the expo.
Tim said, “Wait, I get someone to help, but it’ll take at least half an hour.”
“It’s fine; I’ll just be a little late.’ She would go there anyway.
She was about to talk to the drivers when Zark spoke.
TI get someone to handle this. Where are you going? I’ll take you.”
Ashley was stunned and looked at him.
Five minutes later, Ashley was in Zark’s car. They sat apart, but she felt awkward.
Thank you.”
“It’s nothing.”
Ashley frowned. Why was he suddenly so nice? Their last encounter at the racetrack was unpleasant. Now he would even greet her…
Zark was busy making calls. This made Ashley relieved. She felt uncomfortable staying with him alone.
Forty minutes later, they reached the expo. Ashley got out and thanked him again.
“Hmm.”
Ashley nodded and left.
A black car stopped beside Zark’s car. Tanya thought she’d seen wrong. She checked the license plate and knocked on Zark’s window.
The window went down. Tanya asked,”Zark? Why are you here?”
Zark got out, saying, “Dropping off a friend.”
Mark and Yonnie got out of their car. Recognizing Zark, they greeted him. After a brief chat, Zark got a call. The expo was about to start and they left.
Ashley met Tim and the others. Tim whispered, “The professor will be there.”
Ashley was stunned.
Tim smiled, Thank God someone took you here. If the professor knew you were late…”
She understood. He wouldn’t care about the reason for her lateness. He’d be angry she was late, especially considering her marriage after graduation. She shivered at the thought.
It’s good you weren’t late.”
Ashley felt the same way.
They entered the exhibition hall; it was already crowded. The hall was vast, showcasing drones, flying cars, robots, and more. The sheer number of exhibits and technologies overwhelmed them.
Tim was well-known; people all came to greet him. He introduced Ashley to some contacts. As she greeted them, her eyes met Tanya’s.
Apparently, Tanya was surprised to see Ashley here.
