Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 90

Chapter 67

“Mm.” Instead of asking if he was free or pleading for his presence, she simply said, “Tell your parents for me.”

He looked at her, then set the invitation aside.

“Got it.” He turned and entered the bathroom.

Ashley looked at his back, put away the hairdryer, and went to Sam’s room to bathe him.

When she was done drying Sam’s hair, an hour had passed.

Sam cuddled up to her, asking if he could sleep with her. Given her current situation with Chase, what else could she say?

Ashley returned to the master bedroom, gathered her things, and told Chase as she left, “I’m sleeping in Sam’s room.”

He was reading, gave an “Mm,” without asking further or trying to dissuade her.

The next day, after breakfast, Ashley took Sam to school, then went to the office. Amanda’s birthday was approaching, but she’d been so busy with work that she hadn’t bought a gift yet. At lunchtime, she called Cindy, asking her to go shopping with her after work. Cindy readily agreed.

Ashley hadn’t delivered Linda, Chase’s sister, the invitation yet.

She tried calling Linda, but got no answer.

She knew Linda disliked her and her family. She might be deliberately ignoring the call.

Still, for Amanda’s sake, she had to try. The call ended without an answer, and another call went straight to voicemail. Linda was deliberately ignoring her. Ashley didn’t mind; she was just going through the motions. She texted Linda, explaining her call and asking when she was free to meet her.

Without waiting for a reply, she continued working.

That evening, Ashley went shopping with Cindy, but they hadn’t found a suitable gift.

Cindy suggested, “There’s a charity auction the day after tomorrow. Should we go there?”

But I don’t have an invitation…”

Cindy hesitated. The invitations went out a fortnight ago. It’s too late to get one, but…”

Her meaning was clear: turn to Chase.

After parting with Cindy around 9 pm, Ashley went back to Chase’s villa. He was already home, working in his study. Knowing he wouldn’t allow her near, she waited in the bedroom, reading.

Around 1 am, he returned. Seeing her, he asked, “What’s up?”

Ashley didn’t beat around the bush.”I hear there’s a charity auction in two days…”

Chase elegantly removed his tie.”You want an invitation?”

‘Yes.’

‘Got it.’ He went to his closet, then to the bathroom.

It went so smooth that she was surprised. Relieved, she set down her book and lay down. She fell asleep before he finished showering.

The next day, because the auction was the day after tomorrow, Ashley came back to Chase’s villa again. Chase wasn’t home, but Sam was. He asked Ashley to cook for him, and she agreed.

After dinner, the housekeeper approached her.”Mrs. Sterling, someone delivered this.”
