She gently moved his arm aside, got out of bed, and asked,
“What do you want for breakfast?”
Seeing that she didn’t want to argue about yesterday anymore, Tyler decided to let it go.
“Anything’s fine, just something light. But… tonight, can we have that soup you make? I’ve been craving it.”
Athena noticed how uncharacteristically gentle he sounded and nodded her agreement.
Tyler lingered in bed a little longer. When he finally washed up and stepped out, he found her bustling around the kitchen.
It wasn’t the first time Athena cooked, but every time Tyler saw her like this, something inside him softened—he just couldn’t help it.
Still, he couldn’t shake his curiosity about her master bedroom.
Standing in the kitchen doorway, arms folded, he asked,
“Athena, when are you going to let me into your master bedroom?”
Athena paused mid-stir, a crease forming on her brow.
“Why are you so interested in my master bedroom?”
“I don’t know. I just… want to see what’s in there.”
She didn’t answer, clearly unwilling to continue the conversation.
Tyler realized then that Athena would compromise about almost anything else, but when it came to that bedroom, she wouldn’t budge an inch.
He took a deep breath, remembering the promise he’d made to himself on his way here—not to do anything that would hurt her again.
Rubbing his forehead, he admitted to himself that he genuinely wanted to be with Athena, but the words just stuck in his throat.
He’d had plenty of women in his life, but he’d never actually wanted a real relationship until now.
Maybe it was the warm, peaceful atmosphere of this morning, but suddenly, he didn’t care about his pride. So what if he became a lovesick puppy? Worst case, he could let Ian and the others tease him all they wanted.
After a moment’s hesitation, he finally blurted out, awkward and shy,
“Mr. Bennitt…”
Doris had never met Tyler in person before, but she’d heard all kinds of rumors about him.
She’d always assumed Tyler was just toying with Athena, but now here he was, in her house. What on earth was going on between them?
“Athena, where have you been all this time?”
All her scolding condensed into that single question.
Athena didn’t want to get into the whole story about Kerwin, so she just said she’d needed to get away for a while.
“Get away? That’s not like you. Did someone hurt you?”
The implication was obvious, and Tyler bristled, but thought better of saying anything.
After all, it had been his fault Athena left in the first place. He had gone too far, and now, he really did want to make things right.
He just couldn’t figure out what Doris was doing here, showing up now of all times to ruin his moment.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
