“Oh, I see how it is, Athena. The moment anything involves Kerwin, you lose all sense and forget about everything else.”
He yanked the knife from his shoulder, drew in a shaky breath, and spoke to his bodyguards. “Take her home first. Let the others handle what’s left.”
Athena glanced at the young man whose face was twisted into a grotesque grin, her lips pressing into a thin line. “I want to stay.”
She needed to hear the truth about Listina with her own ears, to finally know which member of Kerwin’s family had pulled the strings all those years ago.
Tyler’s expression darkened. “Take her away.”
“Tyler!” she protested.
But she didn’t have a chance to struggle. Two guards grabbed her by the arms and marched her back to the car.
Tyler signaled for someone to take him to the hospital. The stab wound in his shoulder hadn’t hit anything vital, but blood was still seeping through his shirt.
As he waited, someone approached with a report.
“Tyler, we’ve confirmed it. The one who ordered the hit was the Keller family’s second son.”
Mr. Keller, the current head of the family, had fought tooth and nail for his position. Back then, he’d systematically eliminated his older brother and every other male relative standing between him and the top. The Kellers had always clung to tradition—inheritance passed only to sons. Daughters were never a threat, but any stray male relative was a ticking time bomb. So, even if Mr. Keller had never met Kerwin, even knowing Kerwin would likely never return to the Keller family, he chose to act.
Now, after all these years, every ounce of power in the Keller family belonged to Marlon Keller. Two years ago, Marlon had shifted the family’s focus back home, building up a shipping empire and forging strong ties with the Olsons.
Taking on Marlon Keller was no easy feat. Revenge for Kerwin was a pipe dream.
The Kellers had ruled for generations. Even Tyler had to think twice before making a move against them.
He rubbed his brow, scanning through the files in his hands. Marlon Keller was reckless and ruthless, and anyone who’d crossed him had paid dearly. He was newly engaged to Maggie Olson, cousin to Abner Olson—a woman with an elite pedigree.
No matter which side Athena landed on, she was out of her depth. Any one of these people could snuff her out with a flick of their finger.
The man beside Tyler spoke again.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
