A fleeting look of triumph flickered across Maggie’s face, but the moment she remembered Elsa was still there, she quickly masked it.
Elsa was only just recovering from the shock of hearing that Kerwin had passed away. Suddenly, it all made sense—why Athena had been so desperate to get her hands on that old photo album. Was it because Kerwin was gone now, and there were so few pictures left of him from when he was alive?
She stared silently at her coffee cup, lost in thought, as Maggie kept talking.
“Elsa, Athena’s in Greenfield, right?”
Maggie had never liked Athena. In fact, she despised her more than anyone else in the world. That woman from a nobody family—how dare she steal the man Maggie loved most?
“She is, but I never set up a meeting with her,” Elsa replied, her tone calm. “If you know Tyler, though, you’ll probably run into Athena soon enough.”
Tyler?
Maggie rifled through her memory. Tyler... Wasn’t he someone Marlon knew?
So, a meeting was probably inevitable.
Ever since Abner had taken over the Olson estate, Maggie had been living on edge. But her lifestyle hadn’t suffered one bit—Abner certainly wasn’t short on cash.
“Elsa, I’m getting married soon. To Marlon. You might not know him—he and Tyler run in the same circle. So I guess I really will see Athena again.”
Back in high school, Maggie had been the ringleader in bullying Athena, and the torment only stopped when Kerwin started looking out for her. Even now, Maggie’s hatred for Athena hadn’t faded. A sly smile crept onto her lips.
Elsa felt a tangle of emotions. She’d been jealous of Athena, too, once—she’d even believed those rumors that Athena had betrayed Kerwin. But after hearing that Kerwin had died, Elsa suddenly felt something closer to sympathy for Athena.
Athena used to be so quiet, so reserved—except when she was around Kerwin, when she’d light up with a smile. Now, seeing her wrapped up with Tyler, Elsa wondered if Athena had changed so much because Kerwin was gone. Maybe she just didn’t care about anything anymore.
People shouldn’t meet someone so dazzling in their youth, Elsa thought. It ruins the possibility of a normal life.
And the way Athena had sent her abusive stepfather to prison—Elsa had to admit, she admired her for that.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
