Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 2235

A deep furrow appeared between Tyler’s brows. He tipped his head back and, to his dismay, spotted Athena not far away.

A sudden chill crept down his spine. He immediately shoved the woman beside him toward the door.

“Get out. Now. I want you out of my car.”

The woman looked stunned. Wasn’t Tyler supposed to be a notorious flirt, never turning away a pretty face? Why was he being so cold tonight?

She stepped out as told, only to spot Athena standing by the curb a little distance away.

Athena instantly recognized Tyler’s car. She barely glanced toward the driver’s seat before turning to head into the bar.

Panic seized Tyler. He jumped out, hurrying after her.

“It’s not what it looks like! I swear, there’s nothing going on between me and her.”

Athena’s voice was icy. “Nothing to misunderstand, is there? Isn’t this exactly your style? You go through women like drinks at a party—even right in front of me.”

Frustrated, Tyler shot a glare at the girl in the short skirt, gritting his teeth.

“Come here and explain it to her,” he snapped.

The woman still seemed dazed. This desperate need to explain himself—was this really the Tyler she knew?

She took a quick step back, clearly wanting to get away.

“I said, come explain!” Tyler barked, his nerves frayed.

But the woman ducked into the nearest cab and sped off, leaving him standing there, utterly lost. Her reaction—the way she bolted, like someone caught in the act—only made things worse for him. It made him look even guiltier, when he’d genuinely done nothing wrong.

“Athena, I swear—”

Before he could finish, Athena was already walking away.

“Athena!” he called, running after her, trailing in her wake like a scolded puppy—never quite catching up, but never letting her out of his sight.

Truth be told, Athena had only been passing by. She didn’t really care what Tyler was up to; after all, he’d always been reckless, so finding him caught up with someone in his car was hardly a surprise.
