The man hadn’t even had time to react—he just felt a sudden flush of embarrassment and anger—when he saw Athena sprinting toward the open edge of the second floor.
“What the hell are you doing?!”
With a defiant smirk, Athena leapt off the ledge, tossing one last taunt over her shoulder.
“Hey, brother, I’ve got your pants. Guess you’re not so tough after all.”
He stood there, frozen in disbelief.
Athena landed hard, scraping her leg so badly it started to bleed, but she didn’t care; she broke into a wild run, desperate to escape.
The abandoned warehouse wasn’t far from the highway. She flagged down the first passing car and disappeared without looking back.
Back upstairs, Marlon yanked off his wig, methodically wiping the black makeup from his cheeks with a tissue. He peeled away the fake eyebrows and mustache, finally glancing down at his pants, which Athena had managed to pull off in her escape.
Well played, Athena. He wouldn’t forget this woman.
He pulled his pants back on and, unexpectedly, let out a low laugh.
In the shadows, one of the bodyguards shivered. God only knew, when he’d seen his boss’s pants get yanked off, he’d nearly died of shock—he’d honestly thought Athena wouldn’t leave that place alive. But she’d used Marlon’s stunned silence to jump from the second floor and escape.
Was she just fearless, or did she have no concept of danger at all?
“Boss…” the bodyguard called out, voice trembling.
Marlon tossed the wig aside with a flourish. “Let’s head back.”
He’d examined the birthmark—it wasn’t a tattoo. Maybe his grandmother was right: Athena really was the missing daughter of the Keller family. His biological sister.
He stared at his fingertips, still remembering the strange sensation of touching her skin. Unforgettable.
The driver in front glanced at Marlon through the rearview mirror, noticing he was still staring at the hand that had just grazed Athena’s.
“Boss, what do you think? Is she really your sister?”
Marlon’s lips curled into a sly smile as he lowered his hand.
“It’s very possible. My darling sister, after all.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
