“Keep searching. And tell the others: no reckless moves for now.”
Same as before—don’t do anything unnecessary. There will always be more chances to make money, but once you lose your life, all the money in the world is worthless.
The man standing next to him nodded.
Marlon leaned back in his chair, staring out at the endless blue sea, feeling a dull sense of emptiness. Back when the Keller family was still knee-deep in shady business, his life was always hanging by a thread. Now that everything was cleaned up, the family’s enterprises squeaky clean, things had been almost too calm for years. Suddenly, someone was stirring up trouble, and honestly, he found it a little entertaining.
He’d always been a thrill-seeker. Now, he was just curious to see who this new player was.
His thoughts drifted back to the call from his grandmother—not long ago, she’d phoned with something urgent to say, mentioned a name: Kerwin, or something like that?
But Marlon had taken out so many people over the years that the name meant nothing to him. Whoever this Kerwin was, he barely registered on Marlon’s radar.
He lit another cigarette and turned to the man beside him.
“Keep me updated with any news.”
“Yes, boss.”
The yacht drifted quietly over the open sea.

In Greenfield, Maggie’s mind was a swirl of plans and grudges ever since she’d left the Keller family. She wanted revenge on Athena. She wanted Athena driven out of Greenfield, to make sure she could never show her face here again.
Sliding into her car, Maggie called one of her people. “Any progress? Have you figured out who’s being kept in that house?”
“Ms. Olson, we’ve been watching for ten hours. No one has come out, but we did see food deliveries go in.”
“Then why didn’t you disguise yourselves as delivery drivers and go check? What do I even pay you for?” she snapped, hanging up in frustration.
Her team, smart enough to take a hint, quickly pulled on delivery uniforms and made their way to the house where Lindsay was holed up.
But Athena had warned Lindsay more than once—by now, Lindsay was extremely cautious. She hadn’t ordered any food, so she didn’t open the door for anyone. When the doorbell rang, she peered through the peephole, saw a delivery uniform, and, saying nothing, quietly returned to her room and went back to bed.
The “delivery driver” stood ringing the bell for a full ten minutes before finally giving up and leaving.
It wasn’t normal—if it was just a wrong address, no one would keep pressing the bell for ten minutes straight.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
